I just installed this on my a110 with csi.
Two issues:
- The app does not seem to use unicode encoding so all my folders and filenames in greek appear wrong.
- When I tried to enter a folder all I got is a black screen, and no response from the gui untill reset.

It doesn't currently use any special encoding. I will add unicode support soon.

This sounds like bad error handling from the device. An eventual PHP error should not crash the operating system.
Please try accessing the folder using a regular browser (http://PCH-IP-ADDRESS:9999/FolderShufflePlay_gaya/) to see if there are any errors on the page (instead of the black screen).

This way I get no errors at all, just wrong encoded filenames.
Is it possible the two issues are related?

I also thought it might be useful if you implemented the current path in the page header as a breadcrumb, ie with clickable links to the folders in the parent folder hierarchy

I installed this application and find it very usefull. There are some things that could be improved.
For instance, I have a folder with 100+ subfolders and I have two remarks considering that.
- The application can't handle more then 99 subfolders in a folder.
- The interface is slow when browsing goes "off screen".
