The PlayAll feature is great, but very often I find my self wanting to start from a specific track, and then play the rest. I can use PlayAll and then skip ahead to the track, but the option I suggest, would make it much more intuitive.

PWRC supports playlists already.

There is a technical problem of external playlist creation - file paths.
The paths have to be absolute as there is no way to determine current directory the files should be relative to. Calculating the absolute paths via HDD mount point does not look too reliable for me now. I should think about it a bit more…

Sure - an external playlist would be a solution. But what about the URL solution I suggest? I only need you to support a syntax maybe like this:
"http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8088/pwrc.php?mode=playlist&files=%songfromonefolder%&%songfromanotherfolder%"
The idea is, that I can select different tracks on the fly in my application. To execute the "playlist" I would generate a specific URL that is supported by PWRC.
