[DVD] DVD audio level consistency & cursor movement runaway?
I've had my PCH for a couple of days. Two issues that I'm finding to be intolerable are the inconsistency of DVD audio level, and the cursor movement runaway.

I put DVD files on to the PCH hdd in folders. Some DVD files play back with good audio level, while other DVD files have extremely low audio level. All of these DVD files played with good audio on my previous media players (Mvix & INOi).

The second issue is the cursor runaway. When I use the remote to move the cursor around in the PCH interface, or in a DVD menu, the cursor will 'runaway' and keep circling around. This makes it very difficult to select a file or other item. It is not the remote repeating the IR signal, it is happening in the PCH.

Are either or both of these known issues? Is there anything I can do to resolve them? There are several other problems as well, but these two are dealbreakers for me if they can't be resolved.

[PH] For cursor movement runaway, it may affected by some IR sources. Go to setup page, "References" section, and turn off "IR Key Repeat". This is disable the IR repeat short repeat pulse command and player only listen to complete IR command.

Thanks, that solved the cursor issue. I'm sorry that I missed that setting, I thought that I had checked every setting.

I just learned (from another thread here) that the reason I was experiencing the cursor runaway in the first place is because I am using a Western Digital 500GB drive. Not only does this drive not align with the mounting holes, but it interferes with the remote receiver operation. I think it also causes faint herringbone pattern on screen when using analog outputs. So, a note to everyone to avoid the recent vintage WD 500GB drives.

What about the DVD audio level issue? Even if it is not currently solved, is it known why it is happening?

These DVD files have not been re-encoded at all. They are the original size from the DVD (7.6GB+ per folder). Again, the audio level is consistent on my Mvix player.

What is weird in my case is that for some DVDs the sound level is plenty loud, but for others it is so low that I have to max my TV volume to the point that the hiss overcomes the sound. What is the distinction?
