Compatible external USB DVD rewriter for movie playback
I searched the forum for quite some time, however I can't find the correct thread. (if there is one.....)
Here's the thing: I want to get rid of my old and worn DVD player, and go fot a USB connected external DVD rewriter to my Popcorn Hour A-110. Can someone tell me if this is workable?? If so, can I simply connect any bus powered 'laptop external re-writer'? I know, I know, just movie playback............ Thanks in advance for the help..... |

You have me worried about a couple of things; 1) You say "bus powered". Do you mean powered from the USB bus? I know there has been issues with this and your better off getting a self powered USB enclosure. 2) You do know that this configuration will not replace your current DVD player? You won't be able to play commercial (protected) DVDs. Just a couple of my thoughts from reading your post. My Lawnmower Runs Linux |

Thanks nuke12,
I thought about bus powered, however the powerrequirenments had me in doubt for a while... with your comment....No bus power...... Furthermore: all 'original' DVD's frome the videostore will NOT work??? Thats a big disapointment... why???? Jeroen (11-05-2009 02:05 PM)nuke12 Wrote: You have me worried about a couple of things; |
