RE: [REQUEST][SUBS] Subtitles naming managment
+1
Most of players can do that, c-200 (dedicated to organize an play movies) can't! I'm used to playing movies with different subtitles depending on audience sitting on my sofa. |

RE: [REQUEST][SUBS] Subtitles naming managment
Is possible for PCH-C200 to take all the subtitles in the movie folder and to append at TRACK index to select more easy the desired subtitle ? If I have 10 subtitles (with different names and languages inside) I wish to select them from the subtitle menu like TRACK 1/10... Like in DVD mode (subtitle off, and then English, French, Italian, etc...)
PCH-C200 (320GB WD Scorpio Blue) trough HDMI to Sony Bravia 32W4500... PRICELESS ! |

RE: [REQUEST][SUBS] Subtitles naming managment
I forgot one point in my +1,
I saw some softwares that they can manage more than 1 subtitle playing in same time. Should be good if we can put more than one also. +1, |

RE: [REQUEST][SUBS] Subtitles naming managment
+1 from me as well.
(It is possible to mux multiple subtitles into an MKV container by simply adding them in MKVmerge and then remuxing the file... but I agree that this should not be necessary, I just mention it for those who would like a workaround until hopefully this request is realized.) The naming convention VF.TAG seems a bit unusual. What I have seen most commonly is NameOfMovie.en.srt NameOfMovie.fr.srt NameOfMovie.de.srt NameOfMovie.th.srt which seems more logical to me. Subtitles support by popcorn hour is imho developers joke. Ugly font and no format autodetection like in cheap Chinese devices. That plus other bugs = We bought very beta device

RE: [REQUEST][SUBS] Subtitles naming managment
@cheaper_popcorn :
Yep, it's possible to Mux... But as Migo said, i don't want to do that! The popcorn device should already find all subtitles as i explain it on the first post of this thread ! And as Migo said once again, so many little Media Tank/Media HDD allready do that ! For example, the little WD TV (Live or Normal) device do that very well ! For about 100$ ! About TAG or NOTAG in the name of the subtitles, it's just here to make a difference between tagged and not tagged subtitles! It's usefull, because, for example the PCH doesn't read very well tagged subtitles!... (Once Again, the WD TV do... Did I choose the Wrong Media Tank?! Hope No !!!) but, formerly, if the system can read NameOfMovie.fr.srt, it should be able to read the NameOfMovie.fr.tag.srt

RE: [REQUEST][SUBS] Subtitles naming managment
I'd also support the naming convention: NameOfMovie.xx.srt (tag or notag doesn't concern me much).

I said I agreed it should not be necessary, but provided a workaround all the same, as a help to people... you know, trying to help other users, being like the main point of setting up this forum...? No? Sorry for trying. That's ok, keep disagreeing with people who agree with you if it makes you feel better.
