Totally random question, and I suspect that the answer is "no," but can I use one of these on one of these and expect it to work?

RE: HP server card on a PC
Doubtful...I don't know of a non-server motherboard that uses 64-bit PCI slots, which you'd need for the array controller.
At any rate, the board you posted a link for doesn't have them... (11-10-2009 12:45 AM)kukhuvud Wrote: Totally random question, and I suspect that the answer is "no," but can I use one of these on one of these and expect it to work?

RE: HP server card on a PC
Some of the 64 Bit cards can be used in a regular Pc with 32 Bit bus, BUT you will get MUCH less perfomance
and some cases won't have the room for the card. Why do you want to use a 64 Bit card in a Pc ?? Philips 50PF7521D Yamaha RX-V630 6:1 DTS Proson 6:1 Speaker C-200 Samsung 320 Gb 2.5" Sony/NEC BC-5600S FW 1.03 C-200 Set to 1080i 60Hz, Auto Frame=Pal/Ntsc, Fit to Screen, 16:9 Hdmi Audio Off, Surround 5:1, All Digital/Raw Net=10/100 Netgear WNDR3700 Router C-200 to Tv=Hdmi, C-200 to Reciever=Coax |

RE: HP server card on a PC

RE: HP server card on a PC
But you can still use SOME of the cards in the 32 Bit Bus, they can sence if the card is in a
64 or 32 Bit bus and configure itself to the right type.
