HDMI No Audio with avi

Hi,

I'm using a samsung la40b530p7fxxy connected via HDMI with a c200.

I have no sound connected via hdmi to the tv. If I use composite + stereo I have sound. Picture quality isn't very good tho.

Before the new firmware I had intermittent sound issues. The sound would sometimes stop when recovering from screensaver. Suspend/restore would fix it. I now have no sound at all.

Firmware is 02-01-091113-19-POP-408-000. 1 internal sata drive with the latest apps and some media.

Is there a way to log HDMI so that I can provide that info to the dev's? (Astone media player has this)

I have also changed all audio outs to PCM as suggested by other threads.

I only use the PCH to watch divx's as I prefer sitting in a comfy couch better than sitting in front of my computer. No receiver. No extra speakers. Just a failure of core functionality. Despite the cost of shipping back to America from Australia, it may happen soon, no matter how nice the remote is.

I tried everything suggested on Takie_san's page. Nothing worked. Tried a different cable, still no good. Tried a different HDMI port. Worked. wth?

At this point, I'm going to say choosing the built in name 'dvi pc' for the hdmi port (it doesn't have an option of media box or popcorn hour - you have to choose from a prepoulated list) meant the tv ignored all HDMI sound, as dvi doesn't have sound. It's currently on blank.

How exactly is this a bug?

If it was a bug then many users would have AVI with no sound.

Make sure your settings are correct in your PCH and that you PCH volume is higher that 0.

Set all the settings to analog in the Audio/video settings.

Change the surround mode to stereo.

reboot the PCH.
