A-110 Out of Stock?

Tried to order an A-110 on Popcorn's "buy online" website. There is no "Add to Cart" button, just states "This item is out of stock".

At least the C-200 has a "Backorder" statement and an estimated ship date.

Is the A-110 still a viable product?

Are you asking whether it can still be bought, or whether it's still supported through firmware updates?


EDIT: I'll answer both, as you seem to've signed-out!

The A-100 has been intermittently "Out of Stock", then back into stock. Just because they don't have any A-110s right now, doesn't mean they'll never have any again. Plus, I'm sure there'll be a few resellers carrying the A-110 if you look around.

And as for support, yes, I'm confident it'll be supported a while longer. Although it's a very stable machine already, at what it does. You'll always find a few people moaning about what it doesn't do, but hey...

It says that the item has been discontinued. Does anyone have any solid information as to whether or not more will be sold? The site says to instead buy the HDX-1000 that runs the same system as the popcornhour.

The HDX1000 runs the same firmware and has the same chipset. You will find it a great player.

If stocks are running out that would make me hold on for a while as if there is a new model coming then the old models will reduce in price when its released.

I echo that approval of the HDX1000.

I heard there might be a new model coming out soon... but I'll admit I'm surprised to hear that the A-110 might be discontinued. Terrific little machine. And what with the C-200 still trying to find its feet, I figured Syabas would hang-onto it a little while longer.

I just purchased my second A-110 from a reseller that I bought the first one from over a year ago. These are GREAT machines. I then had a friend ask about getting one and I email the reseller and the do not have any more and said they were told that he A-110 was end of life and not to expect to get any more.

I knew this before I bought the second one but wanted to have them both the same! Still a wonderful machine.

So it looks like you will need to purchase a C-200 for a Popcorn Hour or the HDX1000 looks like a good option. In fact I looked at getting one but already had the PCH and wanted to stay the same.

I went with the eGreat 34A. The C-200 is too large. I don't need a hard disk or a place for a player. I needed a few units for the kid's rooms to finish out the house's media server. Total dollars spent was a deciding factor along with being available. The true power down is nice, I don't mind the startup time and the server is all spun up by the time I'm ready to browse.

The C200 is too large if you don't have the need for disc playback or for large internal storage through adding 2 x HDD.

The C200 is NOT a A110 replacement, that we hope will be announced at CES2010 in Jab 2010. You never know you may hear about it first on the forum, we've been first for all other announcements of new models.
