Ah, will fix in next testing. I dropped the png down to grayscale thinking I was being clever... back to RGB soon...

@Lordy, thanks buddy noted.

@Bertbert, For me Transparency works fine, the test I did to verify was to set transparency to 100 and then ZERO. it's very obvious in this case. When trying between 30% and 40% I couldn't really tell. Tried it for both TV Sets and Movies and worked well.

NMT: C-200, 2.5" 320GB WD3200BEKT... NAS-->NMT-->HDMI-->AVR-->HDMI-->TV

RE: Oversight Jukebox Testing Version r595-testing
Hi Lordy,
Noticed a strange problem with this version (although not sure if this also occurred on older ones):
When downloading multiple episodes for a TV series via NZBGet, the catalog doesn't update for the last episode (the file is not renamed and Oversight is not updated).
Manually running an catalog for the specific folder works and the latest episode is added.

Unrelated to this, for the font sizes settings in the HD detail, what is the % of - i.e. what is 100%?
Changing these doesn't seem to provide expected results.

BTW transparency seems to work OK for me.

Thanks
Rob

css inheritance is a bit of a mess in Gaya.
This is not helped by my awful css layout. I'll check and report back!

RE: Oversight Jukebox Testing Version r595-testing
Just decided to give this a whirl. I love how you can manage everything from the NMT, and it does not look half bad! Very impressive. I am currently running 4x14 poster view, which allows me to find something very quickly to watch in my massive library(2TB HDD). A problem I have noticed so far, which I am not sure if it is normal or not, is that is takes a very long to to initially load or switch to a new page. Anything I can do to speed this up? It seems to pull up quickly on my pc, but slow from the NMT.

And I am guessing Set Support for movies, might be a future feature?

@takenover, Hi, yes I have to think about ways to speed it up now. One option is caching, but this will still be slow the first time a page is drawn. How many movies / tv shows do you have? (see Oversight Admin screen).

Also reducing the rows and columns may speed things up.

Yes Automatic Movie Set support is coming. I was trawling the internet for ways on doing this.
Then I just noticed IMDB movie connections. which had the data I was looking for!

instead of cache why not make a database of some sort. If you are already having people use an internal drive.

Hi,

I just use Overnight for the unpack script. May i suggest that there be a gui option added to resume the unpack? The odd time my stops and I'm not sure how to restart it (my download folder is on external USB drive). It would be very helpful to easily be able to resume.

Awesome, great news. And for your info, I have roughly 150 Movies, which is the reason I prefer a page which I can see many movies per page.

RE: Oversight Jukebox Testing Version r595-testing
@halfelite, thanks for the suggestion, yeah thats another approach. I already have "a database", but I'm doing the equivalent of a "full table scan" every time a page is drawn. So this is one area that can be improved. So what I'd have to do is separate the page drawing bit from the data reading bit, and keep the data reading bit in memory. (essentially a database)

I could import my index.db into sqllite, but index.db is already read "fairly" efficiently. I could restructure some of the data and add indexes for sorting. At the moment it is sorted on the fly, but even then the quicksorts on a few 100 items in C does not take long.

Also Gaya reall time processing of the png fade effects affect page load speed too.

What I need to do is sit down and to a proper analysis of the bottlenecks, otherwise I might put a lot of work in for little gain.

Avoiding Starting new processes is I think one area I should look at first .

Part of the problem is the single CPU running a CGI script in Gaya, means 4 processes from the start:

1. Gaya - final rendering
2. wget - new process : initial page fetch of CGI script
3. sybhttpd - serving up the initial CGI page.
4. oversight - new process: CGI script

Pages load OK(ish) on the PC which cuts out gaya/wget.

By comparison a static YAMJ skin run from the TV, I think only uses Gaya (no wget nor sybhttpd processes, for local files).

In fact typing this out has just given me something else to look at!

Oversight is also doing some other stuff like checking NAS devices are pingable and checking for local artwork etc. and this is done at every page draw, but again most of this is native C and only seems to take a few clock ticks
http://code.google.com/p/oversight/wiki/GuiPerformance
For example checking my NAS is switched off takes 10ms.

RE: Oversight Jukebox Testing Version r595-testing
I upgraded to the newest firmware for my HDX-1000(been putting it off), and reset to defaults. Turned off the un-needed Apps that I would be replacing via the Community Installer, and reconfigured the apps via the config files or setup menu's. Afterwords, my menu is no longer slow, even with 56 movies per page(14x4). It's almost instantaneous. Definably way, way faster then before. So, guess it was something on my end, cause everything is running great now. Thanks Lordy.

@lordy

620-Testing still has my "unusual" problem.

I may start pulling apart catalog.sh.full again if you don't mind (or do you have a suggestion where I should look in it?)

Going back to an older catalog.sh resolves the problem so it's only since you changed the way RENAME/RENAME_FILM works that I see the problem.

My bad. I see catalog hasn't been touched since 595. Will have a look at it myself Smile

RE: Oversight Jukebox Testing Version r595-testing
I may be on to something Smile

The call before the move:
Code:
if (!is_empty(oldName))
on line 6528

is running the
Code:
ls -a '/share/Complete/oldfolder' | egrep -v '^\.\.?$'

Which returns 2 lines the mkv and nfo if I run it manually but the command:

Code:
return system("ls -a "qa(d)" | egrep -v '^\.\.?$'") != 0;

is returning the value 1

And awk classes that as true so hence it thinks the folder is empty and doesn't run the rename.
Can I suggest the code is changed to:
Code:
return system("ls -a "qa(d)" | egrep -v '^\.\.?$' | wc -l") != 0;

which WILL return false when the folder has data in it and true when not.
