Awesome, thanks for the fast response.

My mom bought one and it does have a much quicker browers for viewing folders, although I didn't get a chance to play with it much. I was impressed how quickly it worked out of the box.

RE: Western Digital Player
Actually, that's not entirely true. The WDTV Live will bitstream HD audio even though it doesn't claim to do so in the specs. I had one for a week or two while I was waiting for my C-200.

I have herd the hacked firmware for the wdtv makes it 1000 times better though.

I know it definitely did TrueHD and DD+ but I'm a little fuzzy on DTS-HD; it may have improperly passed the DTS core instead of the full DTS-HD stream. I can't remember for sure, so don't quote me on that.

RE: Western Digital Player
Wow, i thought all these things got bricked with the last firmware update.

The WDTV Live compares to the A110.

If yo do get one, you may want to run hacked firmware on it.

I do not know if it will run all the cool things you find here though like jukeboxes and skins.

PCH A-200 16GB USB -> HDMI -> Samsung LN46A650 | A200 -> Toslink -> Logitech Z-5500 (Harmony 700)
PCH C-200 8GB USB -> HDMI -> Sharp LC46D64U (Harmony 550)
Eversion/Whisper skin (custom MOD) + WHS V1 (15TB Q6600/4GB RAM ) -> Mediasonic HR82-SU3S2 (Backup)

RE: Western Digital Player
The WDTV unlike the Istar is NOT an NMT.

Whilst the WDTV is cheap we will always get these type of questions. The WDTV is a comparative player to the other cheapy players like the xtreamer but has the Sigma chip as opposed to the Realtek one. Sigma chips are better.

Here are some of the many other threads including this summary from a WDTV owner:-
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...light=WDTV
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...light=wdtv
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...light=WDTV

Remember this is NOT a general AV forum, if you want comparisons go to general AV sites such as AVForums.co.uk or AVSForums.com

Don't know if they have DVD or DVD ISO playback yet, or DTS decoding but like I say OK for a cheap backup or for the kids bedroom.

A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI
CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407
