Need some help with DTS Pass-Through
Hi guys,

been reading a lot about a-100 not able to decode DTS and it's pass through via PCM.

pls correct my understanding if i am wrong, which means if my AVR a denon 2805 is able to decode DTS, what will happen is a-100 will pass the "sound" for for avr to decode and i still get DTS sound? or simply it will down-mix to stereo?

sorry for the noob question.............

You can't pass through DTS as PCM, by definition it would need to be decoded to PCM.

The idea is you pass through DTS raw to your amp and your amp decodes the DTS.

If you set it to PCM it will downsample it to stereo.

aaah... the magic word is RAW.... Smile

which means all the media files that i have with DTS should be able to play fine if i set it to RAW ?

i like it RAW... Tongue

I get it on some and not on others. I've only tried MKV/DTS so far though.

Can you find any pattern for the files that do have dropouts - like specific resolution or specific audio bitrate or something else ?
I have played several 720p .mkv with DTS and have not had dropouts a single time. I cant remember if my 1080p .mkv have been with DD or DTS, but Ill check and try them out as well.
