RE: [bug] Snow / interference while playing BD/DVD on non-Full HD TV via HDMI
Just tried the new update (16 mar. 2010) on my Popcorn C200, and all my problems are solved
. I can play all of my (3...) BD via HDMI without a problem (before I could only play them via Component). I also tested different DVD's that didn't work before, and even those work now (I tried some new ones with copy protection and even my good old Friends DVD box in 4:3 format plays fine now). I'm verry happy with the new update! Roever, you are a lucky guy! I am not in the same situation.
The last update (16 march) brought no improvement to solve my problem. BD and protected DVD cannot be played (only "snow"). Other retail DVD play fine. Same for disks burnt by myself. Videos (from DVD and BD) played from NAS play also fine. C-200 with 500G HD and Liteon IHOS104-37 TV Philips 32PF9830 |

Have you tried a component cable? That did work for me before, when I only got snow using a HDMI cable (component also still works fine with the new update)...

I have the same issue, but with the component output I can see BD and DVD movies. Is there a lot of difference in video and audio quality between Component and HDMI? |

The component output looks just a little softer (less sharp, but barely noticeble), but besides that I didn't loose any quality...

RE: [bug] Snow / interference while playing BD/DVD on non-Full HD TV via HDMI
I recently bought an LG CH10LS20 Blu-ray player and hooked it up to the C-200 over HDMI. I got the above mentioned problem (snow/static with brief flashes of the proper image) on my 5 year old Philips 37PF9830. There was an earlier similar problem documented in this thread, which was fixed in a later firmware revision. Everything plays fine over component and over HDMI on a different, newer Philips TV.
So it seems like once again we are having HDMI/HDCP sync issues. Here's hoping a newer firmware revision will fix this problem too. I tried the last two firmwares btw (100214 and 100428) and that didn't make any difference. |
