I know that apparently every single piece of information I need to know about making the PCH C-200 work is in the wiki

BUT (and it's been alluded to here before) the wiki isn't exactly the most user friendly way of finding out stuff. There's all sorts of info relating to the A-XXX models jumbled up in there and I'm looking for C-200 info - at least the way I was reading stuff anyway

I've had my C-200 for a few months now. I'm not a whinger / whiner / 'this doesn't work and thats why I bought it' kinda guy (although it's a damn shame You Tube doesn't work anymore and that the MSP YouTubeLite option has some pretty bad buffering issues rendering alot of stuff over 3 minutes long unwatchable)

I would love some detailed, but in laymans terms please (very good for your user guide!!) explanations of what the various audio prefs you can set, what they actually do and how they may effect playback

I am the original Joe Public...I have no idea what the anachronisms you all refer to actually mean. If this is a user guide then surely you should explain the settings ( I see that the same lack of detail also applies to video settings as well- at least I understood here what I needed to set and all is good-having been ripping dvd's/svcd's/vcd's for years!)

Just my two penneth, I'm having loads of probs on the audio front especially when I pair those with wireless streaming but I'm too damn ashamed to ask for help (since I am too in awe of those who post here (except for Willem53 who is a god in the pm department and always replies with dignity and salient information-whom I am also in awe of, but he's very approachable))

Basically, some info on what those audio prefs actually do would be a dream - and that's why I downloaded the user guide after 2 months of having owned my wonderful ( and I really do love it) C-200

The audio prefs are really easy to understand if you know the wording. If you do not use an external audio receiver to decode audio streams then they all need to be set to analog pcm, which is pretty much you get stereo audio out your tv. When you set the to digital you are using the receiver to decode the audio and whatever stream it is.

The DRC option is a normalized audio options. Its to make the sound all the same so sound effects are not a whole lot louder then the voice and so forth.

Balders2 are you asking for a glossary of terms or suggested setup suggestions.

Something like:-
- Choose Analogue (PCM) if you are connecting direct from the C-200 to your TV. Also choose Stereo.
- Choose Digital (RAW) if you wish to pass along the audio to a suitable audio visual receiver, or similar. Also choose 5.1.
NB.
Very few receivers can decode AAC or WMA Pro therefore, unless your receiver is one of those few, select Analogue for AAC and WMA Pro.

I had the same problem but hadn't activated my account yet through email verification. Is that the problem maybe ? What does it say under Primary User Group in your user Control Panel (User CP link in top of screen) ?

I had an other problem. Because I am in the beta users group. Werner did something to this group......
