BluRay iso playback to come? (simple BD navigation "TBA"...)
In the announcement of the new A200 there is a comparision chart. In that chart, for the A110, there is a "TBA" in the line for "Simple BD navigation" - what does that imply?
- BD iso playback with simple BD navigation?
- BD folder playback with simple BD navigation?
- if so, when will that most likely to be realized?
Thanks for any helpful clarification!

Yeah, I'd welcome clarification on this. Not for me, but for a couple of my friends who bought A-1x0s on my recommendation.

It means that it will play back bluray iso and folders but you will not get the fancy menus.

Sure. What I mean is, exactly what does "TBA" mean...?

Of course, I know what it means as an abbreviation! But is there a solid prospect of this arriving on the 100-series...?

I think it means that they cannot do it until they receive more code from sigma. The same code that affects HD audio in M2ts files on the C200.

They need to fix the singlefile playback first in order to get that part to work.

I could have sworn that a MOD mentioned all this in that thread. Let me read back and find the links.

TBA = To Be Announced if i'm not mistaken.

Please read the A-Series or C-200 FAQ before posting, you may save time and find your answer

RE: BluRay iso playback to come? (simple BD navigation "TBA"...)
I definitely don't care about menus, but I do want the rewind capability that ISO or folder structures offer. Ideally, I suppose I'd like to rip my disc, re-encode it a bit to cut down the size, and remux it back into a Bluray structure. I've noticed that TS-Muxer offers the ability to output a file to "Blu-ray Disk". Is this something that would be feasible/compatible with the type of Bluray support the A200 will offer?

The A-200, I reckon so. That's how I play-back my Blu-ray discs on my C-200.

I'm wondering whether the 100-series will gain this option.

So you actually take the M2TS from the original disc, re-encode it to trim down the filesize, and mux it back into ISO/BDMV format? Any playback issues?

RE: BluRay iso playback to come? (simple BD navigation "TBA"...)
I take the largest .M2TS from inside the STREAM subfolder and put it through tsMuxeR. I strip out all non-English subs and non-English audio streams (foreign movies aside, of course...) then recompile them. This has worked flawlessly so far for non-branching discs.

As for branching discs, when passing them through ToNMT the output file appears to be fine, although I have noticed one problem in particular - when running these rips back on my C-200, if I cycle all the way through the audio tracks (i.e. from the first to the last, then back to the first), the audio suddenly crocks. I then need to stop the file and reboot the player. This issue is easily avoided by deciding upfront which audio track I want to listen to.

So, basically, it's perfectly fine.

So you never actually tough the source video though, right? You're just trimming off a bit of space here and there by getting rid of extras/audio tracks/subs? I'd like to compress the file size a bit more than that.

RE: BluRay iso playback to come? (simple BD navigation "TBA"...)
Yeah, I never reprocess the video or audio. I just pick and choose the streams.

Even with my conservative process, the effect is telling. The average size of my BDMVs is 34.5GB; strimmed-down, their average size is 24.6GB.
