[UMC] Searching betatesters for 2.0

We are going to build a little Team for testing UMC 2.0.

Our goal is to find bugs faster and optimize the developement of UMC.

We are looking for:
two or three users, who are willing to sacrifice their time to support UMC.

What you should bring:

• A Popcorn Hour (any model)
• A computer, to run the GUI (whatever OS you like; diversity is welcome)
• some IT-skills
• time
• You should have attracted some positive attention by helping other users with their UMC-problems
• You should be part of the community for quite a while.
• You should speak english, of course. Bugreports will be in english.
  

Your jobs:

• Do some Test-Cases and fill out a test-protocol (we are going to define those in the next time)
• report any other bugs you get
• Show initiative and try to help fixing errors or reproduce them
  

The communication between you and the developers will go through me generally.


Please PM me or post in this thread if you are interested in helping us.

Please give the following information:

• Why should I take you?
• What media are you using with UMC (Movies, Photos, Music, Series)? (as far as it is supported yet)
• Where do you store your data? (internal/external HDD, NAS, Server)
• Which model do you have (A-110, C-200, ...)?
• Where do you store the frontend? (internal HDD, networkshare, webserver)

hi mate i up for a bit of testing

ill ask the questions many people will , use the forum/c200 daily
i use umc with films/photos and music
data is on 1,internal hdd(3.5 1tb) 2,internal (sata b4 3.5 500 gb ) 3,usb 1tb 4, usb 1tb
im using the c200
frontend is on the internal share (sata disk)

also im mainly a mac user (although i also have windows) so i could help with the different os

Never heard of UMC before, so went on your English link on your signature, played that youtube video you have on the main page, oh my god, this is so beautiful and what I was after !! Looks awesome. Have ordered an A-200 this morning, and will sure be delighted to test UMC on it and report back back to you my findings !

Hey I'd rly like to test it. I learn quickly and I like to spend time at my computer / other devices. I've been developing some stuff in another community so I'm not new to testing .. I find myself as a good bug-tester as I like to test out all the features of something I own. Although I am currently only using my C-200 for Movies and TV Series because so far it haven't proved that good with playing music compared to my computer. If UMC can change this, I'll def. give it a shot. I'm storing everything on internal HD atm, and that's where I plan to place the frontend aswell. If I'm going to play music on it, it'll be streamed from my computer though.

Hi there,

I'm currently using YAMJ in combination with ember media manager and I would be interested to test UMC 2.0.

I have a PCH C-200 with an internal HDD and I have also some media (pictures..) on my PC (Windows 7, 64 bit..).

In additon I have some Iphones, a netbook, a Xbox 360, a PS3 ...

I think overall a good playground for further testing :-)

The amount of times I have seen T-100 in UMC threads I know he will make a good tester. I would have been up for it but just don't have the time at the minute

I know this is not the correct place, but here i am....two things from the preview video....

- Video images for tv episodes please
- The dialog box for recently added shrinks/expands - would look much slicker if it just slid in and out a la xbmc....maybe its a RobG limitation i.e. you cant do that yet without the license...the same effect is seen on the jukebox view selector....

Other than that, great work and do us proud beta testers...
