Can't Delete some files on C200
Hello guys ,

im also a proud owner of the c200 since Tuesday .

Now i bumped into the following error.
after i viewed a movie, i normally delete it right away, to get some free space on my 1 tb hdd.

But now i have 2 folders i can't seem to erase.
after i select the folder the movies is in, i click delete.
then he ask for confirmation, then i click yes.
he deletes everything but the folder it self...and give a error while trying to delete.Sad
So now i have a empty folder...which i cant seem to delete

I tried it threw the c200 menu, and via the ftp.
but it won't work, it just keeps reappearing.

i treid to rename it and then delete it, the only thing is that it causes to crash after few attemps.
and then i have to pull the plug..

What am i doing wrong here... Blush

Greeting Roberto

RE: Can't Delete some files on C200
Is it possible that the FTP server doesn't have the proper permissions setup for the account in question?

Its hard to answer what could be going on here because there are too many possibilities...

What firmware are you running? What are the files you are trying to delete located on?

If its internal did you format via the NMT itself before using the drive?

Popcorn Hour C-200 (02-02-100118-19-POP-408-000)
NMT Apps Version (02-01-100119-19-POP-408)
Internal 500GB Drive (WD5000BEVT)
Video connected to 1080P Projector via HDMI (Viewsonic PRO8100)
Audio connected to Yamaha Receiver via Optical SPDIF (HTR-5930)

RE: Can't Delete some files on C200
That's just the strangest thing about it.
First there was nothing wrong with the traffic between the NMT and my PC.
This 'bug' just showed up out of nothing.
there already several movies on the c200, and watching them fine.

First thing i did with my 3'5" samsung 1tb hdd, was formating it threw my NMT.(internal)

And the files you where referring to where MKV and M2TS files in separates folders an named after the movie in question.
tomorrow i gonna give it a shot threw Samba instead of the FTP i do right now.

maybe that will work out. maybe the latest firmware (02-02-100118-19-POP-408-000) i using right now has a glitch or something.

for now im gonna get some sleep... and will try it after work tomorrow.
Thanks for replying and try to solve this.

And is also good to develop my poor(written) English, thank god for spell check hehe Big Grin

RE: Can't Delete some files on C200
i found the solution... after switching back to samba mode.
i now could access and delete the files again.
in fact weren't the files deleted, my popcorn nor my ftp programm didn't display the files.
he made it a sort of temp file. see picture below

I don't know what went wrong, but i m glad it works again. Big Grin

RE: Can't Delete some files on C200
It is a part downloaded FTP transfer.

Don't use FTP on the 200 series as it causes freezing presently. Use SMB/Samba/SimpleWindowsSharing or whatever you call it.

The only way to use FTP presently is to transfer back from the C200 to a PC.

A200 [No fan-metal case]: 3.5" HDD, HDMI, WN150
C200: USB (Apps), 2.5" HDD, BD iHOS104.37, HDMI, CAT6
Network: A100, W7, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-605, Synology CS407 4Tb, Thompson 780v5, CAT6

RE: Can't Delete some files on C200
Oh ok, thankz for the heads up!
That explains the freezes i had, i thought it had something to do with me uploading to much files at once.

Now i leave it at the 'Samba mode'.. And just drag and drop, works fine for me.
and now i can actually see , what my remaining disk space is again Smile
Now i noticed , that it was better to put 2 TB in , instead of 1 oh wel maybe over few months hehe.
