M2TS with SRT subtitles
I used tmuxer to put a srt subtitle as the pgs subtitle was'nt reconised.
The movie is a BD rip and the srt sub doesn't show up either. Does M2TS support the srt subs. The funny thing is that mediainfo see's the embedded srt sub as a pgs sub, Pch A-110 Qnap ts-109 II pro nas Belkin Vision N1 |

RE: M2TS with SRT subtitles
Please read the WIKI, this is covered in the remux guide. TSMUXER converts the text based subs to PGS graphics which is not supported by A-1x0 series.
The .SRT will work fine if in ANSI format. Cheers, -jj- |

RE: M2TS with SRT subtitles
(02-08-2010 04:30 PM)jj666 Wrote: The .SRT will work fine if in ANSI format. Actually, no it won't. There's probably some little piece of information yet buried (like the srt file 'washed' through notepad), that everyone is missing (including me). (Yet another A110 owner trying to get everything working 'correctly') So, I went back to the old methodology of putting the srt file in next to the m2ts file (same dir), and.. it worked. To Recap: m2ts + a couple of audio files + the srt (ansi converted w/ notepad) remuxed by tsmuxer (v. 1.10.6/latest) = no subtitles : audio and video perfect I have lots of movies (mkv), with subtitles, that work just fine. In trying to 'roll my own' I have had to 'dig out' several 'tricks' to make things work (the latest was running converted dts audio through mkvmerge to make tsmuxer 'mux' the audio properly; obviously a programmer problem with tsmuxer that mkvmerge had figured out!) More bizzare info: I tripped across a thread in this forum that said that m2ts wouldn't do srt at all (so, how did the folks at the top of THIS thread 'make it work', then?) and that one needed to use mkvmerge to mux the m2ts and the srt files together... EXCEPT that mkvmerge (v3.2.0/latest) won't accept ('unknown format m2ts' says mkvmerge) so once again, I can't replicate what others 'say' works. Lots of apparently mis-information, lots of things that I can't replicate. Now, I'll try 'splitting' the m2ts down to it's 'base elements', and give mkvmerge another try. But will have to 'book time' on that machine in the next few hours! Update: Okay, the real trick is getting the original PGS to co-exist in the MKV along with the original Video, any/all audios, AND the .SRT file, all for maximum compatibility between the 100 and 200 series PCH boxes. I've gotten the extracted video/audio/srt to work (as an mkv), after jumping through 2-3 flaming hoops. Now I'm still trying to figure out out to extract the PGS files and cram them into that mkv.... |
