Audio problem C-200
Hey Guys,

I am sure someone has had this same problem but i have searched through all of this forum and can't find a solution / answer.

Today i bought the C-200, and i installed a 2TB internal drive.

That all went well.

I set up the ftp to move my files to the C-200.

I tested out some of my downloaded blu rays and they play no problem with audio working.

BUTTT...

When i put on "baby einstein" for my kid, which is in .avi format i do not get any audio. There is picture, but no audio.

When i press the info button on the remote for the c-200 it says that the audio is streaming, but i hear no sound.

The audio does work for my blu ray rips, but not for these avi files.

Audio for this file is bit rate, 256kbps, channels 2 (stereo), audio sample rate 48khz

If that helps any???

Baby einstein is a collection of about 26 dvd rip's that were put into avi format. None of them play audio, but they all display the video.

These same files work fine with audio and video on both, my xbox 360 and my ps3, however they do not work on the C-200. Video displays, audio doesn't.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Or what settings i need to change or use?

I really want to have faith in this C-200 device to control my media, but it doesn't seem to want to play audio with simple .avi files.

Help!!! Please!!!

Many thanks...my 5 and a half month old will be pleased if i can get this fixed Smile

RE: Audio problem C-200
Hi djf84, welcome to the forum. Smile

AVI is a container format. Inside of AVI, people place the darnedest things. To give you proper advice we'd need you to give us the MediaInfo output for the file. Instructions here:

http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...?tid=24448

There is a good chance that the avi contains some type of junk due to the program used, and that the files can be fixed by a remux with AVImux GUI. This is a very quick process, say 1-3 minutes per file depending on the performance of your computer.

But please post the MediaInfo first so we can check.

RE: Audio problem C-200
@ djf84,

Which firmware version you're on? the Jan-29 one?
I have been having serious audio dropouts with this one.

Always have to turn off and on the C200 (couples of time) for the Audio to work.

Audio dropouts and no audio are separate issues.

Please stick to one topic per thread so we can have a chance to get to the bottom of things.

@mobimaniak
Posted this bug a long time ago to the Mantis system: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/mantis...php?id=174
Untill now, no reaction!

Workaround: Remux to TS with tsMuxeR

RE: Audio problem C-200
Hi djf,

It's possible you suffer from a bug in the firmware... Please reboot your player and try playing the Baby Einstein file again.

The bug is that mp3 audio disappears after playback of BD and DVD structures, which can be solved by a full reboot, or also, weirdly, by changing the video output resolution to something else, and then changing it back again...

Please give it a go and see if that fixes it. Sorry for not thinking of this possibility earlier.

@FlaSH, can you cook up a file sample for me, I will confirm your bug if I get the same behaviour as you. Hopefully that will speed things up in Mantis.

RE: Audio problem C-200
cheaper_popcorn,

I tried both of your suggestions with out any success.

I first tried to change the resolution, and then changed it back. No luck.

I then rebooted the c-200 by turning off the power to it and unplugging it for 15 seconds and then starting it up again. No luck.

Idea's?

Also - are there any good links you can point me to that tell you the best settings to set your c-200 up with? Like the proper video resolution, and all of that. It is so frustrating going through this forum to find things because there are so many different threads!

I hope you can help me with both of the above. And thank you.

RE: Audio problem C-200
There's a big banner or two at the top of the page. One link is called Just Got Your NMT. If you click on it you get the installation category on the WIKI, this is about 20 pages of essential reading.
There's also a link to a manual as well.

BOTH tell you about resolution setting and autoframerate setting. Also audio settings etc. etc. etc.

On the audio front if you read the MKV A_MPEG/L2 codec info:-
http://www.matroska.org/technical/specs/...index.html
you'll see that it incorrectly reports as mp3 when it is mp2 and has a difference with regards splitting information in an MKV. Think it's something that need firmware fixing.
You'll also see that many devices have problems with it, PS3 and KMPlayer:-
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=...LvokQKiJ0Q

TMF release a lot of these files in the Dutch.

Recode the audio with avi-recomp if it is an AVI:-
