RE: C200 - My journey
Although you need to persevere and setup your connections to and from the HDD:-
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...work_Share http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...lity_Lists You should take the advice of the post above and use FTP, its quicker and unlike FTP to the C200 doesn't freeze:- http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i..._using_FTP Make sure that the NMT App FTP server is ON, along with any others but definately SMB as that's required for Simple Windows Sharing (copy/paste). Forget Ext drivers you do NOT need them. You only would need them if you disconnected HDD from the C200 and then connected it direct to your PC. A200 [No fan-metal case]: 3.5" HDD, HDMI, WN150 C200: USB (Apps), 2.5" HDD, BD iHOS104.37, HDMI, CAT6 Network: A100, W7, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-605, Synology CS407 4Tb, Thompson 780v5, CAT6 |

RE: C200 - My journey
i thought this was one of the better posts out there for the brand new PCH people. i found the information very helpful and i thought i would continue it. thank you Deathquake and all the posters. i hope this doesn't stray too far from what we've got going here.
a little about myself. i would put my experience level with computers and these programs at about a 2 or 3 (out of 10). not great. i've added HDs to my computer, put in video cards, ect, but know nothing about FTP or Linux or any of the NMT apps here. my mom bought me a PCH after she had been handed the remote to one that was chock full of movies and stuff and it was "oh so easy" and "oh so great". so i'm about 10-15 hours into it so far. i am learning alot. i am not going to give up and perhaps someone here can help with pointing me in the right direction. i've got a C-200. i've installed a 2.5" drive with no problem and i've installed a BD drive with no problem. just to add some insight on those ... i downloaded the lasted firmware on a UBS and updated the machine first. then i used the youtube videos to help me with the installation of the 2.5" drive and BD drive. i put both of those in at the same time. of course i checked the compatability chart before i ordered them. then to format the HDD the PCH asks for the "NMT setup source" ... which at first i didn't know what that was, but it turns out that it is just the latest update that i already had on the USB. so i stuck that back in and both of those hardware devices are good to go. i knew i wanted to be able to stream and stuff, so i went out and purchased an MN-200 wireless card and a WN-150. i thought i needed both, but it appears i only need one and the MN-200 is faster? right? so last nite i went ahead and installed the MN-200. and that's where i am. stuck and ready to start reading again today to try and figure this out. i got the card in. i got the pigtail leads hooked to the antennas (by the way, my antennas are not super tight, they are not flush against the outside of the box, and yes i did put the hex nut and the washer on the outside of the box), and i go to "Network" to try and set it up. i've got Verizon with a series 3 router model 9100EM. westell a90-9100em15-10. its got SSID: WQJMF WEP: 29AB5F9662 MAC: 00183AA48444 back to the PCH, I went to the "Network" setup screen and did Mode "Wireless Auto IP" and saved it and then went down to "wireless config" and clicked on that. new screen country/region ... channel 1~11 ???? i'm in the USA, Florida SSID List i have: WQJMF, hpsetup, 963RD i have tried with all of the above and keep getting the same result. here it is. the "Security" defaults to WEP 64-bit(ASCII). i left that alone at first and tried to enter the "Key" in the next box that was blank. I tried both the WEP and MAC from above (WEP: 29AB5F9662 and MAC: 00183AA48444) neither of which seem to work. i don't know what the "Security Key" is and i don't know where to find it. and it keeps giving me the message, "Please check the Sercurity key!" so i go to the alternative way which is to put "None" in the "Security" box and leave the "key" blank and this does get me out of that screen. i go back to the original "Network" screen and the "Connection" says "connecting" and there is no IP Address (there is a MAC address). i wait, because it says "connecting". then it says "Asociating" on the "Connection" line (instead of "connecting") and it gives me an IP Address. ?am i on? is this right? i don't think so. i thought it was supposed to say Wi-Fi Enabled. if you've read this far and know anything about this i would love some help. here is what else i have done. i went to "NMT Applications" and i turned all my apps on and they are all "running". i don't know if this is right or not. i suspect not. i cannot get the radio to work or any of the other features on that screen. i keep getting a "Request cannot be processed" my thanks to anyone who can provide assistance/links/advice. i will learn this thing. |
