Stream Video FROM C200?
Hi all,
I have my C200 up and running with YAMJ and everything looks great. The problem I am having is that I want to access the media from my PC with a nice interface. I've tried the following: 1. myiHome - Very slow, doesn't startup reliably, doesn't detect mkv files. 2. YAMJ jukebox - doesn't look right in internet explorer. Also, if I use reletive path for the mkv file it will play the movie, but it breaks the playlists on the nmt (so play all on a TV series wont work). If I set it up with the actual path everything works great on the nmt but I can no longer play from a web browser on a PC. 3. UPnP from WMP - Always gives me a "file not found" error when I select a movie to play. I'm sure there must be more options that I haven't tried, it just gets confusing because it's not always clear from the description of an application if it is a streaming server or a client. I want the server on the NMT and the client on windows/mac, which is probably backwards from what most people want. Any suggestions? |

RE: Stream Video FROM C200?
I use UMC and cannot wait for 2.0 to come out. It is also a bit slow, but very nice.
yamj can and does work well, all it takes is a bit of work ![]() See this link for what a TV series looks like and this one for what a wall looks like using the ppp3.1 skin. Setting up the library.xml file for yamj properly would fix your playing issues. There are two paths that need to be configured in that file. 1) the path to the files as seen by the PC you are using and 2) the path to the media files as seen by the C200. There is lot of help available on this forum, but ask away if you need any other help. Note there are gui's available to configure yamj on Windows, but I run a Mac. RE: Stream Video FROM C200?
Thanks for the reply. I have YAMJ set as follows:
<nmtpath>file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/SATA_DISK/Video/</nmtpath> orignally, it was set like this: <nmtpath>../</nmtpath> This allowed me to play from a PC in YAMJ, but the jsp files didn't work (so PLAY ALL was broken). If I could get the above problem sorted out I could just use a different skin for IE and everything would be cool. Should I replace localhost with the IP address of the NMT? |

RE: Stream Video FROM C200?
My path for video stored on the internal drive of the C200 looks like this:
<path>/Volumes/share/Video</path> <nmtpath>file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/SATA_DISK/Video</nmtpath> Note that the first path is what my Mac uses to find and configure the media on the C200. It would be different on a PC, but only because you will have a drive letter assigned to it. The second (nmtpath) is what the C200 uses to play the actual media. As you can see that they both point to the same directory/folder in the end. (Video) If you post your library.xml I can have a look. RE: Stream Video FROM C200?
It looks like we have the same thing. If you open the index.htm file in safari and click "Play" on one of the movies will it play on you MAC? Mine would play on the PC if the NMTPath was ../ but doesn't with the settings below.
My xml is: <!-- Library file generated by Omertron's GUI Config --> <!-- YAMJ GUI Config v0.43 --> <!-- http://omertron.com/pch/YAMJ_GUI_Config --> <libraries> <library> <path>\\\\POPCORN HOUR\share\Video</path> <nmtpath>file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/SATA_DISK/Video/</nmtpath> <exclude name="sample,tmp/,temp/"/> <description>C200 Movie Library</description> <prebuf></prebuf> <scrapeLibrary>true</scrapeLibrary> </library> </libraries> |
