Any ideas? Im using a-110 with windows 7 64bit. Have you tried to make sure that you have assigned a same workgroup name to your A-110? Make sure all network devices have the same workgroup name as on your PC. |

RE: Windows 7 fixes for SMB network problems
I had issues with the popcorn not being able to access shares on a win 7 pc after it had been running for about a day. After a reboot of the pc all worked ok again for another 24 hours or so.
The solution was to disable smb2 in the windows registry, since then I havent lost a share even with the pc running constantly for weeks. This tip was found on this forum somewhere, but I thought I'd add it here so all tips were in one thread. |

Some people may not know the procedures and may need step-by-step directions. |

RE: Windows 7 fixes for SMB network problems
Slightly off topic but related. Ever since I've had my C200 whenever I boot up my PC running Windows 7 32 bit I have had a message could not connect all networks etc. Click on the window and up would come log in for the C200, type 1234 and all was well. I had ticked remember box but to no avail. Then this morning when I turned on my computer no message and the C200 was connected. I really hate it when this happen like this for apparently no reason or intervention on my part but I'm happy that it works now!
I'm still running the May firmware and am quite happy with it for what I need and the internal disk is mapped as drive Z to my PC. Interesting on another PC on the network running Xp SP3 still needs to be logged on... On my Beyonwiz PVR although it finds the C200 when I try to access it it says guest access denied. The problem you describe with "Windows 7" not remembering the password you enabled it to remember I have also had with "Windows XP Pro SP3". Now on "Windows 7 Home Premium" it always remembers the password with no problems. I also have "Windows Vista" and it does not remember the password either. This is an odd problem which I have found no solution. I know of others who have had that same problem with "Windows XP", and "Windows Vista Premium". So, I guess we will just have to live with the strange behavior of Windows. ____________________ HP Pavilion Elite m9357c - AMD Phenom 9550 Quad Core 2.2GHz, 6GB DDR2, 750GB SATA 3G, 2-DVD-RW DL Lightscribe, 15-in-1 Media Reader, TV Tuner, Windows 7 Premium 64-bit -> 2 Western Digital MyBook Essential 1TB USB 2.0 External HD -> Netgear WNR854T Wireless N Router - 300Mbps, 802.11n, 10/100/1000 Mbps 4-Ports -> (2) Popcorn Hour-A110 with Western Digital 320GB HD -> My Lil Movie Jukebox revision 6 -> Sylvania LC320SLX 32-inch HDTV |

RE: Windows 7 fixes for SMB network problems
Now change your icons for the actual icons of the NMT:-
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...ped_Shares You can now simply right-click>Send-to>Z on any file aswell when in explorer, i find this easy. If you want to call the C200 something different than PCH-C200 you need to go to Setup>NMT Applications. There you will see the name and workgroup that the C200 is using. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

RE: Windows 7 fixes for SMB network problems
Ok despite this thread a little side tracked..... getting back on topic..... i have an issue.
Windows 7 x64 C200 PH. Cant get the Shares on my windows machine to update (refresh). ie: have them initially shared fine. When a DownLoad finishes it adds the new file to the Shared directory on Windows 7 PH cant see the new files. Still sees all the existing files. But none of the newly downloaded ones. WTF? Have tried everything listed in this thread. Any ideas??? Desperate. Would rather not have to roll back to Vista x64 which worked flawlessly...... |

RE: Windows 7 fixes for SMB network problems
You're probably using the "Share With" rather than the Sharing under the properties of the folder area. I have had many issues on various different sharing needs using this option. I would redo the share and make sure you select properties from the initial menu then select the sharing tab then advanced and then enable sharing from there. The key here is to use advanced sharing rather than basic sharing, you'll have less issues doing it this way.

RE: Windows 7 fixes for SMB network problems
I've been messing with this thing for weeks now to no avail. I have windows 7 professional (x64) and a pch a210. My pc is connected to my network over wifi and my pch is wired to my router. I was able to transfer files via FTP but I have never been able to get the samba share to allow me to map the network drive on my pc. I am not interested and streaming from my pc, only transferring files from it to the pch. Now the filezilla app will only transfer part of my nmj database file.
I have tried all the local security policy changes and have also made the adavanced sharing changes suggested with no fix. I have the nmt apps for ftp and smb installed and running. Any other ideas? Could it be a router issue? I can see the pch in my network and sharing center, but it says it cannot be added to the tree. |
