recommendations for a jukebox
Hi Guys,
I got a PCH A-200 with an Internal Hard Drive and I'm looking for a Jukebox to install. It can't be attached to a PC since I have a laptop which can't be running 24/7, so it needs to gather information and posters by itself. Is it a possibility just when I add a movie file, that it gathers all the information it needs, without me adding an .nfo file and so on? Which Jukebox do you recommend for this? |

RE: recommendations for a jukebox
Oversight sounds perfect for you, runs on the NMT, gathers information automatically even when adding new files.
Although just to point out YAMJ doesn't need to be connected to a PC constantly, just when producing the index. Once produced you can just run the index from your NMT, without the PC involved. I expect a lot of the other jukeboxes will be like this also |

RE: recommendations for a jukebox
Thanks for that, I'm gonna check out Oversight.
One question about the YAMJ though. Producing the index, that means updating the information for the movies, plots, covers and so on? Is that somesort of a progress, or is it basicly just transferring the movies and pressing one button to update the index? Or would I just have to run the Index for the first time on a PC, then the NMT would be able to manage it? |

RE: recommendations for a jukebox
You don't have to transfer your movies just tell YAMJ where they are and it will scan them and scrape the internet for data (plot, posters, etc). It does this based on filename, and as long as your filenames are fine, it will find the info, occcasionally it doesn't and you will have to produce an NFO, but no jukebox is infallible. It just seems that some people produce a NFO for every single film they have, this is not necessary but some people like the extra control.
After inital setup, to update the index, it essentially just running one program and letting it scan. Have a look at here for more information on YAMJ and its setup: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...tid=35043. Post 5 in that thread will probably be the most helpful guide for your setup, but read the whole thread for info. |

RE: recommendations for a jukebox
If you set up your drive share in the yamj gui and let it output the files directly to the hdd on the pch you would only need to run the my_jukebox file on your pc and it'll update the files on your pch automatically. This just saves the hassle of copying and pasting them to the hdd after they've been produced on your pc.
