EGreat M34A - Sharing connected USB HDD
I have an External HDD (USB) connected to my M34A. Is it possible to share this HDD over the network so that I can access it from my desktop?

I have tried having the HDD connected and shared FROM my desktop to the M34A, which works, however it seems to stream slowly and play a lower quality video.

Oh, and I am running Windows 7.

You can map it and share it. Browsing it will be slow.

I've had 2 x USB drives mapped off the 31B and it worked.

Thanks for the quick reply mate... any idea how to map it?

I can't access \\192.168.1.107 from my desktop, it only shows up under "Media Devices".

You can't unless you have the external SATA drive connected and the NMT apps installed. You cannot install the NMT apps on a USB drive.

cheers,

Having the drive connected to your desktop should not affect the quality of the video being streamed, but the quality of the streaming may be affected by your available bandwidth. Is either device wireless? Any other background tasks (torrent, etc) that may be eating up bandwidth? A wired connection between desktop & nmt should have plenty of bandwidth to stream HD videos without stuttering.
