Jukebox for music, photo's and video
Hi all,
I'm kind of new here and struggling with the thought to install a jukebox. I have my PCH C200 connected to my LAN, together with a NAS and pc. I use my NAS for back up, my pc as workstation. My PCH is mostly used for music, webservices (radio) and video's. I understand that a jukebox interface will give me more file info and makes browsing of files easier. So I'm looking for a jukebox which can run on the hard drive of my PCH C200 and will work with music, video's AND photo's. Will the jukebox automatically update when I remove or add files on my PCH? Which jukebox can I use? Greetz, Ruud |

You will most likely have to install one for each. The jukeboxes that I know of do not automatically update, you have to run a cataloging process to rebuild the menus of your library. Most of the jukeboxes must be run on a computer somewhere on your home network, but are then not needed once the menus have been created. There are others that are not really jukeboxes, but servers. These can catalogue your library automatically as you add to your collection, but they generally need to be on a computer connected to your home network and running all the time. This has been my experience, anyway. I use YAMJ on my PC to catalogue my movies and Music Jukebox on my PC to catalogue my music. I don't catalogue my photos, but Music Jukebox does (can be configured to) create a random slideshow of all my photos while I am listening to my music. All my files (movies, music, photos) are stored on a NAS, and my jukebox generated files are on the internal hard drive of my C-200. |

RE: Jukebox for music, photo's and video
Thanks!
Ok, clear enough. My situation at home is the same, although I have an internal hard drive on my C-200 where I store all my movies, music (at the moment no pics yet). Besides that, all music files and movies are stored on my pc too, but my pc is not turned on 24-7. I checked Yamj and it looks good and useful for movies. I assume the Music Jukebox is good too. Where can I find instructions to install both jukeboxes? |

Check out the YAMJ thread for help on its many config options. The Music Jukebox thread is in the 100 series threads, but it applies to both the 100 and 200 series Popcorn Hours. Here is a link to the Music Jukebox download. Good luck, it will really make your unit shine and is worth the effort (doesn't take much)... |

Check out the YAMJ thread for help on its many config options. Hi Wandidj, I have a question that I have already asked at one of these forums. When you say "catalogue my music", do you mean indexing/grouping by band members as well? For instance, when we search "The Beatles", we have the list of their albums, years, songs by albums, etc. But then we look into their line-up and click on "Paul McCartney" and can see all albums where McCartney was involved, like The Beatles, The Wings, etc. If Music Jukebox (8.1) does not do it, are you aware of any other jukebox that would be capable of doing it? If it is too complicated how about using an application to generate all data (e.g. MediaMonkey) and then PCH A-110 will just read data? The other question is about OS. If I remember correctly Music Jukebox (8.1) is Windows based. I'm using Linux Ubuntu 9.10. Is there any Jukebox for Linux? Thanks in advance, Alex PCH A-110 Linux Ubuntu 9.10 (storage) |

What I wish is that someone would make a music Jukebox and model it exactly like the one that they have in Starbucks. Kind of like this:
