Regression issues in public FW C200 ( it worked OK...... but now it doesn't)
I would like to gather all issues regarding faults noticed after a FW update in this thread and would appreciate it if the Beta Testers could validate the issues and report them in MANTIS, which is our interface to Syabas development...

This is only for functionality that use to work correctly but after a Firmware update fails or shows problems...

Just the facts please.... opinions can be posted elsewhere on this forum....

Please report if after a cold reboot the issue can be reproduced or if it happens randomly...

RE: Regression issues in public FW C200 ( it worked OK but now it doesn't)
After playing BRD Battlestar Galactica (with disabled PiP) I cannot play other BRD. Loading starts but unit hangs with circling loading logo.

A restart on the remote or the front button is also not possible - only hard switch off/on on the back of the unit.

RE: Regression issues in public FW C200 ( it worked OK but now it doesn't)
^That bug is known - basically what happens is that if you start out playing a DVD (and less commonly, a BD) you lose flac and mp3 audio. It is not a new issue, nor specific to this firmware. You get the mp3 and flac audio back by rebooting the player.

We hope for a speedy fix of that issue, it is one of the more annoying ones, but it is reported and known since before, so outside the scope of this thread.

Thanks for the prompt response. I had never noticed it before hence my report.

I'm glad to say that a reboot does indeed solve the problem, so thanks again for the courteous and informative reply. Smile

FLAC gapless with clicks
Hello,
I have just installed the new firmware on my C200 and I hoped so much that this would be solved. The C200 is such a great machine for audio playback up to 24Bit/192kHz FLAC, but the gapless is not working really right furthermore. With every playback about 20ms of the audio are missing at the end of each file and this discontinuity causes clicks with variable loudness depending on the loudness of audio at the transition point between the two files.
I thought that this would not very difficult to solve. Please could one of the developers tell me if this will be solved soon?

Many thanks
Ralf

Audio on the below 2 files worked fine on previous frimware, now it skips like crazy, the effect is like a record jumping.

Also framerate is reported as 671114.241 fps, it was fine on previous firmware, reported as 25 fps

RE: Regression issues in public FW C200 ( it worked OK...... but now it doesn't)
Some BDMVs now go to a blanck screen when started up.

The issue is intermittent with certain BDMV folders and require a reboot while it is permanent with other BDMV folders.

All these folders played fine on the previous firmware.

RE: Regression issues in public FW C200 ( it worked OK...... but now it doesn't)
I encountered very few of the problems reported with the last firmware version. I have about 1000 DVD ISO files and about 65 Blu-ray ISO files. I do have an internal disk drive mostly for running "My Lil Judebox" as a UI. All of my files are stored on a Netgear ReadyNas Pioneer Pro with 6 - 1.5Tb drives utilizing their proprietary RAID. I am also using a Netgear 24-Port "managed" G-Bit switch (I do have the NMT fixed at 100Mb.)

After upgrading to the latest firmware version, I tried to play my 12 problem BD ISO files and only a couple of them played successfully.

I also discovered that a majority of my BD ISO files hang with a black screen after "stopping" the movie, requiring me to cycle the power using the rear power switch (this was a problem that I saw reported with regard to the previous firmware version.)

I also experienced a problem with .m2ts files that I have successfully repeated over and over. Once I play a .m2ts file and stop the movie, I am unable to play any DVD ISO files ---- I get no sound and video is displayed in a step-wise fashion. However, I can play another BD ISO just fine with no problems. This did not occur with previous firmware.

I confirmed that my NMT configuration had not changed, flushed the cache, and did "tinker" with some of the configuration settings, always resulting in the same behavior.

RE: Regression issues in public FW C200 ( it worked OK...... but now it doesn't)
When upgrading to latest Firmware, on some MKVs with Dolby Digital 5.1, the center channel would not play. On DVD with DD5.1, it did play center channel fine.

I rolled back to 02-02-100118-19-POP-408-000 and the problem persisted.

I rolled back to 02-01-091113-19-POP-408-000 and the problem vanished, so now I am using this version.

HDMI Port broken

With the new Firmware, my LCD-TV Sharp LC37RD2E freezes completely on the HDMI-connection to the C-200.
The previous FW was ok with no problems.

RE: Regression issues in public FW C200 ( it worked OK...... but now it doesn't)
First of all, thanks for the updates on the firmware. The C-200 is getting better and better!

However, I think I found a problem with the latest firmware (worked OK but now it doesn't). Here is the situation:
With my Canon HD camera I shoot a lot around. The material is being edited in Adobe Premiere CS4. After finishing a clip I export it as MP4 with the following settings:

Multiplexing: MP4, standard compatibility
Codec: MainConcept H.264 Video
PAL 1920x1080, 25 fps, Progressive
AAC, 160 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo
VBR, 1 Pass, Target 32,00, Max 40,00 [Mbps]

I found this to be the best settings after experimenting with several different output formats. The clips exported in this settings show perfectly via the C-200 in HD, with excellent sound- and video quality on my Samsung screen.

This week I installed the new firmware without any trouble. My mkv, avi or whatever videomaterial plays fine. Only my own material (the herefor mentioned mp4's) plays with a lot of terrible stuttering in sound and image. First I thought of a hickup in my network, but playing this clips from a USB stick showed the same problem.

So, suspecting the new firmware, I rolled back to the previous firmware (02-02-100118-19-POP-408-000) and my mp4 clips play perfect again. Am I totaly wrong with my chosen format or is this a firmware problem to be repaired in a next version?
