Play with the analog / digital seeting for all the audio types. I dont not play any mp3's but had some no audio problems with some of my movie files and it was the setting in the audio section.

RE: A-200 -> No Sound with MP3, MPEG, etc. BS
This is how your audio settings should be when you are only connected to a TV and not to a surround receiver
HDMI-Audio: On Surroundmode: Stero AAC: analog PCM WMA Pro: analog PCM DTS: analog PCM Dolby analog PCM - DRC: Off Then you need to be informed that theres a known firmware bug which cause playback of non bitstreamed audio like mp3, flac and wma to fail after playback of a DVD Rebooting the device returns audio from these sources also If rebooting the device does not restore audio with above settings - then your TV and the A-200 hare having troubles doing HDMI handshake and you may then need to take other actions to restore audio. But try above instructions first. As to turning off the device and the fan still running - thats not retarded at all but a deliberate feature of the device One short press will only turn off the video output to save power - but will leave an installed harddrive and installed applications to continue running, for instance for torrentdownloading - this obivously require the fan to still be running to keep it cool. One longer press of 3-4 sec will make the LED on the front blink red and turn off the device completely including harddrive and fan, the LED will then stay red, and a single press of the power button will turn on the device again. This is all explained in the online manual - called the nmt wiki - which is linked to on top of every single page of the forum http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i.../Main_Page The wiki should be the second thing to read, you find all kinds of information and instructions on the wast possibilities of this device The first thing to read should be the forum rules - which explains that this is a user community and describe the rules for behaviour and posting in this forum http://www.networkedmediatank.com/announ...php?aid=25 Follow these rules and we will all get along just nicely, and you will find alot of friendly helpfull people here that can help you solve almost any question Living room: C200/A200/A100 HDMI to Pioneer KURO KRP-500A plasma / Denon AVR 3808 / KEF 5005.2 / B&W DM685 Kids room: C200/A110 HDMI to Panasonic 42PZ85, Optical to Logitech Z5500. ok thanks for those tips but i figured that like with every electronic device u buy it would come with a manual (in paper form).
on the part u mentioned about the HDMI handshake thing, what is that all about? Lets try that. Whats the solution? thanks |

RE: A-200 -> No Sound with MP3, MPEG, etc. BS
a manual in paper form would be outdated before even leaving the press for a device like this that has so many posibilities and are constantly updated and changed.
paper manuals are for static devices which doesnt change - for NMT's a dynamic online manual (the wiki) are much more usefull Quote:on the part u mentioned about the HDMI handshake thing, what is that all about? Lets try that. Whats the solution? Did you start by setting the settings as described and rebooted the player ? Did you then test if you have audio from any type of file - and if so what were the results now ? did you make sure the volume on the pch is turned up using the volume button on the remote it should be at 0. Also try changing the video setting to something hitting save and changing it back to what it was. I know it sounds odd but I have seen it work on the A110.

ok - then also try this
turn off both the player and the TV unplug the HDMI cable from both player and TV plug in the HDMI cable again to player and TV Turn on the player before turning on the TV, give it time to boot up completely Then turn on the TV check audio Living room: C200/A200/A100 HDMI to Pioneer KURO KRP-500A plasma / Denon AVR 3808 / KEF 5005.2 / B&W DM685 Kids room: C200/A110 HDMI to Panasonic 42PZ85, Optical to Logitech Z5500. RE: A-200 -> No Sound with MP3, MPEG, etc. BS
yes i tried that too.
sound works when i play an hd movie (.mkv) or a dvd and avi's but whenever its an mp3 or mpeg or wmv, it doesnt work. its as if the NMT is missing the codecs for it, but how could that be?? latest firmware... is my PCH defective? do i need to return it? or is there still some tricks to make it work? thanks |

RE: A-200 -> No Sound with MP3, MPEG, etc. BS
Your wasting your time addressing this issue. The problem, anything with a sample rate of 44.1 will not play over HDMI in you current config...only 48KHz will play properly. I fought this issue for a while and finally gave up and returned both C-200s. Also, internet radio will not work as well in this configuration. Only option I found was to go optical out to a receiver but I had other issues as well even in my dedicated theater room attached to my processor. Never had the issue with older PH products.
