Downloadspeed usenet A200

Hello,

Currently I have a HDX-1000 and am interested in buying the A200.
To convince me buying I would like to know if the downloadspeed-usenet of the A200 is better than the HDX-1000. I can not get the same speed as with my pc(difference is about 5 Mbit). Does anybody have experience downloading from newsgroups with the A200 ?

I only max at 8ookb/s which the A100 and the A200 have no problem downloading. That's SSL as well. SSL takes up a lot more resource than none SSL usenet traffic.

Seen some rates of 2500kb/s w/o SSL and 1,500kb/s with SSL on the 200 series. The actually pairing/unraring is x3 quicker on the 200 series due to the extra cpu power.

1,400-1,500 kb/s with SSL on A200.
This is not really stable, some download are around 800kb/s.
Unpack is really quick, i thought it would take ages and i was very surprised.

Omg a fast unpak excites me, I've just replaced my a110 with an a200, can't wait for delivery!

I download anywhere from 1 to 20 shows/movies per day on my A200. My A110 over wifi & SSL would download at 400KB/sec. The A200 with the new wifi dongle downloads at 1.0MB/sec & SSL. (My cable maxes out at 1MB/sec). So i'm very pleased with the A200, and the unpacking is LOADS FASTER than the A110.

Agreed, amazed that it unpacked a 4.3GB film earlier in 10 minutes, as opposed to the A110 which would take an hour to do the same. The a200 is a brilliant unit.

I won't forget I am downloading now at speed 2309 KB/s! That's great because it's faster than the HDX-1000

Whoah 2300kB/s what is your settings?

Just used the standardsettings and my provider supports this speed (20 Mbit). I also use a payserver that is quite fast.

I get the same download speed as on my PC, no difference at all! Ever since I have a C200 I download all my films/series from usenet with my popcorn C200.

I have ADSL and a US based payserver.

Its a probably noob question, but is there any way how could i get from my A-110 more than 1200KB/Sec when downloding from usenet ?
Im using an 100/20 mbit dsl and everything works fine when downloading with pc, but when downloading with PCH the download speed is 8-9 times slower.
Anyone?

No, the A110 is limited by the CPU power. 1.2MB/sec unencrypted sounds about right for that unit.
