RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
Hi all,
I hope someone can help me because this is driving me crazy. The past week I have been trying to get MPD to work on my A200. It installs fine (via i-pkg). When i look at the install-dir I see that de database is created so it is started. All looks fine when I try to play a song (I use Gnome 0.20). The progress bar moves but I hear nothing. No sound at all. I have uncommented the log info in de configfile and after restart it say's somewhere: Quote:Jun 03 19:17 : config: option 'mount' on line 190 was not recognized The config file is the default config file. Around Line 190 the logfile is: Code: audio_output { When I play a song it say's in the logfile: Code: Jun 03 19:17 : mad: detected LAME version 3.98 ("LAME3.98r")The malformed request is probably because it cannot find the mpd.flac-file. The commandstart-command in the config file is executed when i play a song. Via telnet I see the extra virtual network card (eth0:66) is created and when I stop playing the song it is removed again. I've tried different clients but they showed the same output in de logfile (and no sound). I've tried to comment the 'mount' command but that did not help. I have tried everything I can think of. Can someone please help me to solve this. MPD looks so promising. |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
Is it with the very last A200 firmware?
Because this one is different from the last C200 firmware I have, could be related... |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
You need to resynch ipkg.
At the top of the page, chose "synch packages" => yes "type" => NONE nothing in "filter" Then click on "submit query" |

Trying to figure out your scenario...
So, it works ok with GMPC. Then if you play a movie on the PCH, then try to reconnect to MPD with GMPC, this time it won't work. Is it what's happening to you? (you already have tried a reboot on the PCH I presume) |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
Greetings All,
First, thanks to everyone who has worked to develop MPD for c200. Grael’s clear and concise instructions (http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...1&page=14) were instrumental. I have it up and running and I am very happy. I am wondering if anyone knows if anything can be done to enable volume control from MPD clients. I used to use this convenient feature when running MPD on my A-110, but it seems to be broken for the c200 (have tried Minion for firefox client, and also MPoD client for ipad). I have not run across any other posts about this issue. Not a huge problem, but I would like to get it working if there is a simple fix. Thanks in advance. |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
I noticed in iPKG that there was a mpd 0.16.2-5 listed. I don't remember seeing any note about a change over the 2-4 version. Did I miss the post somewhere on what this change addresses?

0.16.2-5 is just a repack to fix the lib names.

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
I've only just dicovered this and have been trying to get it working for the past 2 hours, hopefully someone can point out where I've messed up. I installed iPkg then busybox, rebooted then installed mpd. I added the path to my network share in the config file but after restarting the PCH again, nothing seemed ot be happening.
I used Putty to connect to the PCH and tried the -stop and -start commands - upon trying to start I'm getting: "Starting Music Player Daemon: Failed to bind to '[::]:6600': Failed to create socket: Address family not supported by protocol" Edit: After reading all the threads on MPD in full, someone gave a useful hint about using the killall -9 mpd command which solved the binding problem, the only problem now is MPD seems to do absolutely nothing once it's started. No log file is created at all, the database file remains untouched yet there are no errors when using the -start command. Anyone have any ideas? |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
Does anybody have any ideas on this? I've uninstalled it, deleted the old files and reinstalled from iPkg and am still getting the same behaviour. I don't get any complaints when starting it via Telnet, the config file is set to use my network share ("/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/PCH/Music") yet nothing happens. The log file doesn't even get created.
I'm at a complete loss, can anyone please help? I'm running NMT Apps off USB on an A-200 if that's relevant. |

Every path declared in mpd.conf link to /share/Apps/local/etc/mpd/ If the real path is different, you need to modify all of them accordingly. |
