Grael and vaidyasr,
Thanks so much for all the work. You guys are awesome - it works great with my mp3 collection. Chris A-300 via HDMI to a Denon AVR 3311Ci. Samsung 46B750 TV. |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
Hi,
I can also confirm that my mp3 collection is working now. However, if I skip songs within a playlist very fast and often, the song I would like to listen to eventually will not be played correctly (sound is strange and stutters). I have to play the song again from the beginning and in this way it is playing fine. Another thing I tried was HTTP streaming using VLC on my computer. I can also confirm that this is working, so that I can listen to the music played on the pch via mpd and at the same time I can stream this music from my pch via mpd to my computer. However, I would not call it a good multi room solution because the music does not play synchronously. Maybe I have to say good bye to the idea of using mpd as a basis for multiroom sound. Anyway, thank you for the update and your hard work in general. Another qeuestion: Within my mpc app on the iphone I should be able to play last.fm music via mpd. It does not work. Is there anything else to configure or install on the c-200 to play last.fm via mpd? |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
Thank you guys so much! It's working fine over here.
Only thing I notice is that bass seems a tad more present compared to normal playback. Maybe I should fondle a bit with some settings. And volumecontrol doesn't work (but I guess that's inherent to the streaming nature of the solution, if there's ever a plugin compiled this should be sorted). You guys made a very happy man! |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
Question:
Does the myhihome server need to be running? I would rather stop it if not, since i don't use it for anything else. |

But a stop/start bring the music back if something goes wrong. Maybe Sonos or Squeezecenter systems manage to do it, but I'm not that sure they can guaranty it. (and at what price!) Mp3 decoder is not the same as C200 native one, but flac files shouldn't be different. RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
Works like a charm on my C200 box .. with a +200gb library mounted on my linux server. Only thing that is not working is that when i search using any MPD client .. MPD hangs and sound output stops.
Anyone knows whats up with that ? |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
I have probably the same issue, doesn't matter if i use android or windows client.
But i don't mind that. It's not that it stops playing, but the music stutters a little when browsing with the client. If i stop browsing it plays normal again. Maybe because MPD is a http server and the client uses bandwith? |

Mp3 decoder is not the same as C200 native one, but flac files shouldn't be different. It only happens with transcoding of mp3 files to FLAC, and then only certain files. I'll have a looksee what mp3 profiles distort the most. From a user-convenience perspective I'd say: I am lazy and if I can control lots of stuff with one controller (my phone) then that's all fine and dandy It's no biggie, I am just merely pointing out a wish of mine.New question: MPD is now set up to output to the device itself. Is there a way to make mpd output to both remote devices (via a client) and the device itself? This way I could listen to music stored on the PCH via a client installed on my phone and listen to it anywhere

[/quote] My Phone can actually handle FLACs, however, I doubt it can handle the bitstream on 3G On wifi, it should be possible though.

I tried //freenas/musique //ip of the nas server /musique had no success... but using the standard /share/musique, worked "out of the box". can you please tell me how did you mount you linux drive into MPD? cheers Julien |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C200/A200
@julio75014
1) First create a SMB share on your linux box called Music 2) On the C200 add a new share called Music and point to the SMB share on your linux box 3) Because of the limitations on the C200 .. only 1 share is mounted at a time, which means that you will have to have the Music share open on the C200 so it will be accessible for the MPD. 4) Edit the mpd.conf file and set: "music_directory "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/Music" Now the MPD server on the popcorn should read all your mp3 files on your network share. Cheers, Blues- |
