A200 - 3rd party metal case with optional fanless heatsink
Well the case had made it into reality.
![]() Front view: Rear righthandside:- A-200 motherboard fitted: ![]() Rear of unit with all available sockets: Case from underneath:- Gallery of pictures showing install of case and heatsink:- http://www.popcorn-hour-fr.com/POPCORN-H...thumb.html Update: Added foam support for 3.5" HDD stability when travelling:- Pre-orders for first batch delivery early May has sold out. A second batch is now being sold for delivery late May at the French PCH reseller:- http://www.popcorn-hour-fr.com/boutique/...product=35 Press the USA flag logo for English if the page is French. Price is 39 euros including VAT. Delivery starts from 10 euros for EU/Europe and 22.50 for USA. There is a production run of 200 units. Thermal tests look better than the stock heatsink/fan combo:- http://www.popcorn-hour-fr.com/forum/sho...51#pid8651 ![]() You can leave your A200 with the stock heatsink/fan fitted and simply place it inside the better case if you so wish and are worried about warranty. English installation guide available HERE for download, or here to open in your browser window:- http://www.popcorn-hour-fr.com/boutique/...tachment=4 Installation Video's:- You will need to register at the shop to place your order. The UK is royaume-uni I believe for anyone from the UK whose French is as good as mine, although now an English language is available via the USA icon. This is NOT a Syabas/PCH supported product. Use it entirely at your own risk if you detach the fan/heatsink and use the optional supplied L-shaped bracket. The supplier of the case accepts NO liability with regards the use of the case. RE: A200 - Pre-orders 3rd party metal case with optional fanless heatsink
There is no English site however you can order for delivery anywhere in the world from the site.
It's in French one of the more welknown languages but for anyone struggling who wishes to pre-order and doesn't have school boy French go to the webpage and add the case to your trolley via pressing the:- Adjouter au panier The over on the left handside of the page you will see the contents of your trolley (panier). Press the commander button, must mean checkout and you are taken to the next sacreen. Here you need to register, look fo rthe left hand of the two boxes and enter your email address in the box beneath thesetwo lines:- Créez votre compte Entrez votre adresse e-mail pour créer votre compte. Then click on 'Créez votre compte' On the next page you need to enter your name and address.Ville is your town, pre-nom and nom self-explanatory, nom de pass = password, pays = country, etc. You only need to complete the lines with asterix's next to them and there is enough lines for all address details. When you have finished adding your details and selected your country then click' 'inscribe' to move onto the next screen to select your shipping choice. UK is 10 euros which is a far cost and as it is a EU inter transfer NO import taxes or VAT on delivery! So £43.35 at today's euro:£ rates. RE: A200 - Pre-orders 3rd party metal case with optional fanless heatsink
Just cut and paste the URLs of the Moovika website order pages into Google translate. http://translate.google.com/
Set "Translate from: French", "Translate into: English" if you can't decode the French anyway. Here's what you get: http://translate.google.com/translate?js...l=fr&tl=en Fully comprehensible, if not perfect, English. Easy peasy. RE: A200 - Pre-orders 3rd party metal case with optional fanless heatsink
A-200 + This Case + Shipping is about $40 dollars less than a C-200. Do you think C-200 offers about $40 in value above the C-200 or not? I think Syabas should buy this product and sell A-200 model with plastic case AND this one as an upgrade from base model for maybe from $199 to $229 depending on discount depth by OEM.

Oh wait 95% of United Stadians online stores doesn't ship to Europe. Maybe you also should write to your central bank and ask it to stop comfort inflation. Indeed package is 700 grams (more than 1.5 pounds) and airmail isn't cheap. |

RE: A200 - Pre-orders 3rd party metal case with optional fanless heatsink
As I said in the early days..... Everybody is keen till they need to dip into their pockets. Same old story and I just hope these guys haven't wasted their time on this.
Hopefully PCH will learn and deliver something in a decent box next time; though going by the numbers of folks that still bought a dudd (A-200) after knowing the noise/heat issues they might not be too bothered. And I class myself in the 'buying a dudd' category by the way , though my c-200 delivers what I need now. (Downgraded expectations + upgraded firmware=mostly happy)
