Subtitle support for an M2TS ripped from a blu-ray
I've searched the forums and I can't quite seem to get a definitive answer on this one. So I have The Hunt for Red October ripped from a blu-ray into an M2TS file. It has the subtitle streams in there still which if I'm correct are in the PGS format.
Now the question is, if I try to playback this file with either an A-200 or a C-200 will either of those models recognize and display the subtitles? thanks |

Well it can play originally available subtitles, but there is problem with added ones by tsmuxer or with external subtitles.

This is my question too, I have spent hundred of hours of research on this, just can't find answer. Please let me know if it plays (direct ripped, not converted m2ts) (04-12-2010 05:25 AM)halfelite Wrote: yes it should Your answer includes doubts and uncertainty. It's either yes or no. Does it play PGS subtitle on a m2ts file? Please if you have not tried yet, don't just say.. "it should" |

RE: Subtitle support for an M2TS ripped from a blu-ray
PGS from original BD in TS ("remuxed") is working for me.
PGS created by EASYSUP in TS is working for me. There are some instances where they play with a crappy resolution, but the wording works fine. How's the data compared when it is converted to TS? any significant loss? I am in the process of learning the tsMUxeR program. Would you kindly write down the step by step process in using the program you used. Do you have to extract the PGS file and place in the same folder with the movie? Or just remuxing it to TS will work the PGS itself? |

My guide is on the WIKI: Yes, you'll end up with a file a lot smaller than the original disk due to missing extras, advertisments, klingon languages etc. Cheers, -jj- PCH C-200 + LG GGC-H20L internal Blu-ray drive · YAMJ plus Aeon Wall · Samsung LE-46A956 · Sony STR-DG820 · JBL CS 1500 · 2 x 40TB Unraid servers |
