ive always found the forums answer all my questions, every issue has always got answered in a timely manner. Maybe you should of tried asking for some help. i just paid for a C-200 which is on its way.. i really hope the $400 isn't a waste of money. I'm glad to kiss my A-100 bye byes as it is horrid in comparison.

mick, good luck. Mine can't even run 1080p properly without flaking out. A100 and A110 is perfect though, so is WD TV Live at 1080p.
mods here arent employees at Syabas. just mods on this forum. |

I'm glad to kiss my A-100 bye byes as it is horrid in comparison. Good luck with your purchase... You probably still need to do some homework as the c-200 is 1 box but has umpteen permutations for use as you'll know. a) I don't use BluRay in it; I use a PS3. Therefore you've a decision to make. b) Whether to use network drives or internal? I use two internal, plus network option and they provide my backup plan too. This works for me! c) I have 35,000 mp3, and a few hundred movies. I don't see the point of keeping videos on the c-200 UNLESS I'm going to watch them often OR they're kids films OR I've "borrowed" a copy. I've given up on most AVIs now and try to stick to decent HD copies (MKV) and DVDshrink my DVDs to 5Gb (say). Another decision for you, but possibly made easier with your a-100 experience. d) STREAMING TO PS3: Is a problem just now (for me anyway)... but is probably related to the PCH myihome internal app. I don't think it can cope with large numbers and assume it has to index your disk as it boots up. The upshot is it only streams from the 1st disk (share), thus plopping all my mp3s to the second disk allows it to stream movies to the PS3. Before that the PS3 just couldn't connect properly (media not found, empty folders, whatever). Maybe someone will come up with some fine tuning, or maybe not powering off would cure it. A few people respond unfavourably in the forum to the question of streaming but I don't think they've understood the issue. For me; I can have the family round the TV where the PCH is, but stream from the PCH to the PS3 in another room. Maybe not a big deal for somefolk, but useful to know you can play media from one box to different rooms without sapping the national grid needlessly. It is very flexible, and I'm still fooling around with mine. I think it's a life long hobby now You've probably got ideas on how I could make better use of mine too; things I've not thought of... let me know.

RE: II hate to say this, but C200 is a Waste and I was robbed.
Shoot, man, I love mine. It does everything I ever ask it to do, day in and day out.
if I had my 'druthers I'd love some Hulu and Pandora, but I can wait. No sense getting mad at Syabas -- the moment something comes out that streams Hulu and pandora AND runs YAMJ (or a comparable experince) I'll jump ship. 1) Mid 2007 aluminum iMac -- OS X 10.6.4 2) Popcorn Hour C-200 w/ SMB and NFS sharing 3) HP EX475 with ~7Tb Storage 4) SabNZBd, SickBeard, CouchPotato and YAMJ 2.2 (courtesy of TOMY) 5) 0 Problems. |

Got an A110, then a C200! Never a regret! I throw files at them, they play it! Those were our marriage vows, and both have been faithful to the dot! (for many many months now)...
I even love the tinkering I have to do... immense feeling of satisfaction when the forum participants jump in and solve a problem for you, or give you hints of their own solutions so you can run with it from there on... In short... I don't ask it to make my coffee for me, and I don't get a bad cup of java in return! 1) Popcorn Hour A110 w/ 500GB internal HDD + wifi adapter 2) Popcorn Hour C-200 w/ LiteOn BD-ROM + MN-200 wifi board 3) QNAP TS-219 with 2TB on RAID 1 4) Logitech Squeezebox Duet |

I have YAMJ and just link Playon off it and can get Hulu, Pandora, Netflix, YouTube, etc. on A-100. From the looks of it, it'll be on 200 series too sometime soon
