Yes it has been discussed to death already in those threads. This thread was not created to make yet another flame war between those who want the feature and those who don't care about it, it's strictly a feature request as suggested by Willem53 HERE.

So please, just vote in the poll. We all know this is a hotly-debated topic and we have no need for another thread that is going to piss people off, so please keep any negative comments to yourself if you vote "NO" or "DON'T CARE".

The inherent problem with polls like these are that voters don't take any opportunity cost into consideration when voting.

Do you want PlayOn compatibility? Sure.

Do you want PlayOn compatibility knowing that devoting time to this effort will divert away development efforts toward XXXX? No.

Opportunity cost is not factored into this feature request. The question is "Do you want PlayOn compatibility" period. How many developers it may or may not take off of another project is not something you can predict nor possibly know, so there is no real reason to factor that into the question.

Guys chill... there is the right to vote for a feature, it is in the right part of the forum.
I would like to know how many users want this....
so far a 180 views 20 votes... 12 for and 8 care enough to say they don't...

No, I simply meant that until people realize that requesting one feature might result in not getting another feature, simply saying "+1" to each feature request is pointless. If there are 10 options and everyone is allowed to vote for all 10, there is no way to prioritize among those 10 choices.

In most other players you don't even request for some new features, and they still sell well..
When you bought the player it had the specifications of what it does on the box, and you JUST bought that product, you didn't sign a maintenace contract with syabas, you just bought a product that you were happy with their specifications.
So don't think costumers of these type of products can demand new features, who pays for them? not you, or me... so learn to enjoy what is given for free..
Like it was said one needs prorities to get things done and like i said above the new firmwares are done for FREE and syabas isn't going to spend a lot of their money on something like that..

As an aside, I'm glad PlayON is winning handily in the poll. However I predict that even if PlayON got thousands of votes it wouldn't get anybody's attention who could do anything about it ( I hope Syabas proves me wrong)

You have so far - despite forum rules - been allowed to campaign for your Playon obsession, even in threads where it had no place.
That does not in any way give you the right to also be insultive towards other users that dont share your obsession.
If you wish to continue on this forum you do not call other users insane or insult them in any other ways.

Let me also make absolutely clear to everyone that a request are never a demand, you do not have any demanding right for non advertised features.
You make a request, and if enough people show interest it may be accepted IF the value (from a business point of view, not from your personal view) of doing so validate the cost to implement and support the feature, and IF doing so is not in conflict with any other businessplans. Syabas are fully in their right to deside - for whatever reason - that any requested non advertised feature are not something they want to support. They are also fully in their right to deside that whatever reason there may be not to fullfill a request is not one they wish to disclose to you or anyone else.

Breaking forum rules by campaigning, insulting other users, making provocative remarks and predictions or silly signatures "demanding playon and netflix" is really not the best way to reach your goal.
I advice you to consider your future approach on this subject.

Finally the purpose of this Poll and Polls like it is only to make a raw count of interested people to display if theres enough interest to validate an implementation and support of a requested feature. Nothing else.
Theres no "winning handidly" involved, theres no contest between yes or no because obviously mostly those in favour will bother to vote or even enter and read a Poll like this, and any "no's" or "dont care's" are irrelevant in regards to any implementation. The Poll should really only have had one choise of answer - which is yes - nothing else makes any logic. So far the count is 36.

Now everyone (and myself) lets just let the poll run as a raw request counter, with no further debate on the whole Playon subject
