Washed out black-levels
I have the A-100 connected via HDMI to my Samsung 32" LCD screen and the colors are to bright when playing most files, divx, xvid and x264 etc.
Before I have also had similar problems with playing from my computer, with ffdshow for x264 only output in RBG gave correct colors and for CoreAVC there was a fix. I have done alot of encoding etc in high-def x264 before and would really like the picture to be displayed as should be with the A-100. Is the A-100 outputting in incorrect color space or is the problem somewhere else? |

Unfortunetly I can't seem to be able to correct the black level on my tv, it is nowhere to be found in settings or advanced settings. If the PCH outputs correct color space, shouldn't the TV see what color space it is and adjust accordingly?
(TV is a Samsung LE32R74BD) Thanks for the help! |

Dunno - but did you try a different HDMI input ?
I ask because many Samsungs have one of their HDMI inputs designed as PC-input and the others as Video inputs which could possibly give two different settings of gamma and levels (pc-levels vs tv-levels) If you get a pixelmapped 1360x768 resolution with the auto setting on the PCH - then youre using the HDMI input which is designed as PC-input, and would then perhaps get PC-levels. Using another HDMI input desinged as Video input you would get Video resolutions (720p/1080i) from the auto setting and perhaps TV-levels. Just speculating since I dont have a Samsung myself. |

Only have one HDMI input and cannot find anywhere to set the black level or type of input.
Resolution is 720p |

I have a Samsung LE40R88BD LCD TV and this model have the HDMI Black Level option. I downloaded the user manual of the TV you have, and I checked the setup screens and apparently there is no HDMI Black Level option. The only thing you can do is to play the Brightness/Contrast level. I have no other ideas.
