PCH Torrent Uploader
I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks uploading torrent to the PCH is a pain. Anyway, I made a app that I called "PCH Torrent Uploader" that makes things a bit easier. Works on Windows platforms only.

Please read the disclaimer at the bottom!

You need to enter your PCH host/ip and port and register the .torrent extenstion in the app.
Then when you click a .torrent link in you web browser it will open in the app and then app will upload the .torrent file to your PCH automatically.

You can download the app here: http://www.norsesupport.com/downloads/PC...rSetup.exe

Any comments are appreciated, but please note that I only made this app to suit my needs...

sounds interesting but its windows only. Would it be possible to make the same thing within a Firefox plug-in?

You read my mind! I was just talking to a friend about needing an app like yours... I was even saying "it would also need to save a copy of the .torrent file on the PC"

Nice work!

BTW Before your app, I punched a hole in my firewall to allow access to port 8883 so I could upload torrents from my laptop and work PC. I've installed your app on my work machine and set the ip address to <my_dds_host>.dyndds.com. It works great.

It's probably that the program can't connect to the PCH.
What have you typed in the host textbox? Can you ping the host?

Isn't 8881 the wrong port? try port 8883, that is the default port.

You shouldn't be saving the .torrent on your PCH. Just use explorer to browse to the bittorrent file your are trying to download. Click and when it prompts you, click open (not save). Nothing apears to happen, but check your pch BT client and you'll see that it is downloading the torrent you just opened.

You shouldn't need to portforward in your router unless you are trying to access your PCH from outside your firewall. (I do this to allow me to start torrents from my work machine).

perfect
I ran it, popped in the IP of my PCH and clicked save & exit.

Download a torrent in firefox and instead of choosing uTorrent, I clicked the drop down, Other, then browsed to c:\program files\PCHTorrent\PCHTorrent.exe and clicked OK.

Went to the web interface and there was the torrent.

Thanks for taking the time and energy to create this app, it has a simple interface and performs a much needed function.
