I found out about Play-on and downloaded a copy from their website. I entered in my user and password for Netflix and and walked over to my Tv. I was successfully able to surf right into all of the directories in Netflix, but it just wouldn't play anything. It just kept giving me an error that, "unable to play movie.." I really would like to find out why this isn't working, or if this is only available to beta users at the moment (a working copy).

Simple answer is that the Popcorn Hour A-200's and C-200's UPnP AV Client doesn't work correctly and that they are fixing it. The UPnP AV client is what plays the video from PlayOn, which is a UPnP Server. Current fixes are being addressed in beta at the moment, but it's still not working correctly, as the beta had major networking issues.

Popcorn Hour C-200 wired into Linksys WRT610N with 50 ft CAT-6 and displayed 720p 60 Hz via HDMI onto a 42" HP LCD. Anime series watcher, YAMJ user, PlayOn user, MSP user. Externally managed torrents, running FTP and Samba server.

RE: C-200 and PlayOn fix with newest beta
My c-200 doesn't seem to work with the playon server. When I try to access netflix or hulu, it starts playing for 10 seconds, then quits. On the server, the bandwidth test drop from high to medium or low.

I have an A-100 and a Patriot Box Office, both work fine. It seems the C-200 is the only one that's giving playon problems.

Anyone have any ideas? The C-200 has the latest update (May 2011). Playon is also up to date.

Hi,
I have updated my C200 to the latest firmware (may 2012) and reset factory settings. I read that a fix with the uPnP server/client was added in the release, so hoped that it would resolve my unsuccessful test with PlayOn early 2012 (could browse content from time to time, but no video would play) and it seemed that connection to the content was lost from time to time (no content found on server).
With the latest firmware, I tried Playon again. I managed to play 10 seconds of several episodes (hourah! confused) but then it would either block or go back to the menu (content).
PC with Playon is connected with 100Mbit cable to my router and so is my Popcorn C-200. I can play content from playon fine on my Android phone but not on the C-200.
Any hint on how this could be solved? I tried changing firewall settings, but that didn't change much...

I have the same issue. Had the 3-04-11 firmware working just fine with PlayOn. Accepted the new firmware 3-04-12 and PlayOn doesn't work any longer. Just spent 3 hours jacking with it and have given up for the night. How does one rollback to a firmware and since the 3-04-11 firmware was only available as online, through the PCH C200, get it to rollback? Any help appreciated. I am a newb at this. Thanks.

Turned out to NOT be the firmware but a Flash update on the PlayOn server. Rolled that back one version and I am back in business. Hope that helps someone else.

Could you please let us know the version of flash that got it working for you? I have been using 11.3.300.265.
thanks

RE: C-200 and PlayOn fix with newest beta
Both on a Win7 32 bit system.

Flash 11.2.202.235
PlayOn 3.3.12.2443

Neither versions are the latest however, Hulu works great as do most other channels. When I use the current PlayOn version Hulu will not play. Couple seconds then to black. Only issue is Netflix will not accept a login from this PlayOn version. I have other options for Netflix so it's not a big deal. Good luck.

RE: C-200 and PlayOn fix with newest beta
Has anyone had any luck getting Playon to work with their PCH C200. Any content I start playing from Playon only lasts 5 sec and then goes off. Would appreciate any input on this problem. I have tried to use the earlier version of Flash that was suggested, but this did not help. I know my Playon was working about 18 months ago and wondering if I could possibly roll back my firmware to see if that fixes this issue.
