it's possible to make it but there are going to be some major hurdles to release it...

1: its going to take a lot of time to do some serious changes to xbmc to make it friendly with how the embedded systems draw the screen and lack of power.

2: you won't pull it off without the chipset sdk and its not free, they don't sell it to just anyone, and its cheaper to buy a stack of computers to run xbmc in your house. Basically it would need someone who really wants to do it and has the money for the tools and not only makes it but keeps it up to date because you need the expensive tools to make a new version or even new test version..

3: The GPL share code requirements of XBMC's license and the pay and don't share nature of the SDK is a major legal hurdle that you need to get the proper legal permissions to make everyone happy..

My view, even if made it probably can't get released..

Lol it's really sad to see all the negativity in this thread aimed EJP, and you wonder why there is no Updates ??

I suppose EJP cant win either way.......

if he did post updates (like the Video) it would only feed your hunger for the non-believers to trying prove that it is fake, and when he doesn't post updates your still negative anyway.....just Support the Guy & his work

I imagine this EJP still has to work and do his normal day job and then when he trying to do something which is free, he gets all this negativity aimed at him.....


If it is half as Good as the AEON movie wall which Rocks, then I can't wait ...I'd rather have something working properly than something half finished

I hope all these non-believers will apologises to EJP once and when it is eventually released.....

Man, talk about the blind leading the blind. It's been about four months since he showed off what appeared to be a fully functional pre-alpha and you're going to tell us that he has showed NOTHING else because he wants it to be 'perfect' before it comes out?

He publicly asks for beta testers and not a single screenshot or any other info has leaked out from a single person in these forums?

Come on man, this was a hoax and/or a project that was abandoned.

I know it's invasion of privacy, but the admins here should be able to see any user PM box right? Or maybe you cannot with MyBB boards...
Anyway this would clear out the issue of whether beta testers do exist.

And shouldn't the fact that there is no leak tell you that he did pick them up correctly? (personally i've beta tested some emulators and it never even occured to me to leak them, even as weeks were going without any words from the dev).

I'm still hoping that xbmc-nmt is real, and that the delay is due to EJP wanting to use the latest Dharma and not the old 9.11 as the base, which would be quite intelligent as Dharma introduces a whole new way to deal with add-ons.

My A-200 is sitting in its box anyway (for backup use), as i have switched to xbmc/htpc. If it gets released it will save me from buying more PC hardware to build a 2nd HTPC box...

Looking forward to an XMBC port to the NMT. Ive been using YAMJ for a while and its pretty neat with the AEON skin, but this looks very promising.

I've dabbled with UMC which also looks very good.

One thing that sucked me into the NMT was the community development. Its not just the hardware that can play everything, its the all the creative people who help make the experience even better.

Thank you for what? Vapor ware that doesn't even get status updates? Thank you for a 'closed beta program' with non-existent testers? Thank you for fake video demonstrations done with boxes that have no internet connection and yet somehow magically show the internet news feed for XBMC?

Seriously guys, maybe he did come up with some kind of semi-functioning port and then realized that he would be in legal hell up to his eyeballs if he tried to release the thing since it relied on licensed work.

In any event it is highly unlikely that this thing will see the light of day. My Vegas bookie is giving 1000 to 1 odds so if you would like to make a wager I'm sure your hard earned cash would be welcome.

1. There is no network connection plugged in and he is getting the streaming RSS feed

2. When the screen goes from the blue popcorn hour logo to the XBMC logo the camera is set down and still (this is the ONLY time its not handheld). That is where he made his video edit. You can even see some change in the video a frame before the XBMC logo comes up.
