Youtube / Popcorn Hour news May 4, 2010
http://www.popcornhour.com/onlinestore/i...&type=news
"May 4, 2010
Syabas is pleased to announce the availability of Youtube on the C-200 and A-200 line of applications. We are thrilled to have Youtube join the expanding line of applications available on the C-200 and A-200 applications portal."

Hi,
What does this mean?
a) Search and play of Youtube videos without "could not play"?
b) Play also Flash content in Youtube (not only Youtube light)?
c) Will it be possible to play existing *.flv files from hard drive?

Well, this seems to be doubtful.
Tell we in case I'm wrong.
I can't check in the moment, because I'm not at home.

Regards Miaz

Youtube was rendered inoperative some while back.

This announcement says that Youtube playback will officially return as a feature in the future via a firmware update.

I can get more technical but that's the long and short of it.

A200 connected to 32" Samsung UA32C5000
C200 connected to Denon 1610 AVR and 42" LG 42LH50YR
Encore ENHGS-500 5 port Gigabit switch.

Sounds good.
In case of firmware update it could be possible (hopefully), to play existing Flash flv files.
Let's wait and see.
Any idea, when?

I do not think that you will be able to play existing FLV files as the flash content on the PCH have a PHF extension.

PCH A-200 16GB USB -> HDMI -> Samsung LN46A650 | A200 -> Toslink -> Logitech Z-5500 (Harmony 700)
PCH C-200 8GB USB -> HDMI -> Sharp LC46D64U (Harmony 550)
Eversion/Whisper skin (custom MOD) + WHS V1 (15TB Q6600/4GB RAM ) -> Mediasonic HR82-SU3S2 (Backup)
D-Link DNS 323 for sale

Hm ... any official information about *.flv available?
It would be great to play flv, because all downloads from at least German TV Media Libraries have this format.
Is this really such a big problem - specially in case of Flash will be introduced in (hopefully) near future?

Hi jetserv,
greetings to you and your wife from Germany Smile

Try to install COMPIZmediacenter. It works great.
A lot of German media are still working without Flash.
In case of any problems: contact "kaesebrot" in the German Forum.

HuhHuh
Hmmm... apologies Miaz but is COMPIZ something that I install on my desktop computer or can it run directly from a pch-200?

I googled COMPIZ and downloaded a RAR file that contained a folder called
COMPIZmediacenter.bundle . I'm not sure exactly what to do with it though.

Jetserf

Ok..

I think I accessed the Compiz stuff from my pch-200. The only stuff I could watch was the Kung-fu channel though.
What kind of shows can you find through Compiz? Any mainstream stuff like Bauer sucht Frau or Supertalent?

Jetserf

Hi yetserf,
at the upper blue line you can see "Mediathek".
See explanation and Screenshots on page 1: http://www.popcornforum.de/showthread.php?tid=9300

But, unfortunately, you will not see the series you mentioned.
They are on Private TV. In the moment you only can watch Public TV ("Öffentlich rechtliche Sender") - shows, films and documentaries.
But some options are not active, because they have changed to Flash
Exclamation And here we are again at the main point of my thread: Flash & Popcorn Hour Exclamation

I think you should contact "kaesebrot" via German Forum. Probably he can help you.
I also did several times, and he solved some wishes very quickly (e.g. quick link on start screen to the current News on ZDF).
