RE: Question before I pull the trigger?
I'm slightly confused on what your question is or what you are surprised about. If I understand you right then You're wondering why it plays Blu-Ray rips, but stutters on other files, right?

I still need to test some other files with lower bit rates. The files I had issues with are contained in the DVD5 disc that Chris57 had posted for testing with the 200 Series: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...?tid=28259 I don't recall which files exactly, but I know that the 90MB/s bit-rate files were very choppy when streamed over my Gigabit network (i know the c-200 doesn't support gigabit speeds). I'm not just talking about the Audio cutting out because the bitrate is so high on it, but the entire file is very choppy. I don't think I could ever overpower the C-200 with HD audio alone. The highest legal bitrate of DTS is 1509.75 kbit/s and I would think that the C-200 would have no issues with playback of that, hopefully. I understand that the Chipset has a limitation of around (i think it's around 45MB/s when streamed through the NIC) correct me if I'm wrong because I don't remember. I'm not sure if the same limitations or even what limitations apply to files played locally on an internal drive either; I would love to know though. Media (All HDMI): A-110, C-200, PS3 Slim, XBox 360 Network (Cat6 Ethernet): DD-WRT610N (AP), WNDR3700 (Router), D-Link DGS-2205, Cisco SD2005, Mediasmart EX495 8TB, Synology 1511+ Audio (HDMI): Marantz SR7005, Sonus Faber Cremona Speaker Collection 5.1 Setup HDTV: Samsung UN55C7000 |

The more extreme bitrate files on the testing disc are more like rare specimens created for the purpose of maxing out the player. You will not find files with such bit rates 'in the wild'.. I wasn't expecting it to play back a file with a 90MB/s bitrate, at least not streaming over my network. If it could I would be very impressed.

RE: Question before I pull the trigger?
We've managed 90Mb/s via NFS with a m2ts file on the forum I think.
![]() The 100 series always got a bit twitchy around the 42Mb/s mark whereas the extra power of the new chip in the 200 series made bitrates worries a thing of the past. RE: Question before I pull the trigger?
I still have audio issues even with the latest firmware. I was told it's defective hardware, but that was by somebody in Malaysia that didn't really even realize that the PCH can hold an internal HD. The video is great, but I don't get this single pass audio thing. I have HD video shot on a camcorder, they play great as files on my PC regardless of local or NAS storage, but on the PCH regardless of local or NAS, they have garbled audio from time to time.
