Rainbow EGreat - R1B
Hi folks.

I just purchased the Egreat R1B NMT player - after the seller indicated that this new offering is a refresh of the earler M34A, etc. series of good players.

First impressions are great - its really handy in size, has amazingly well designed access to ports and feels quite solid. I've tested it with their latest firware update (http://www.egreatworld.com/en/Download.a...0firmware) - works really well for Youtube, Youku, RSS Reader, etc.. Cool

Plays nearly all the formats that I would need and accesses my wireless network with the N-Dongle that plugs neatly in.

However, possibly since this is a new model, I am unable to find applications like the YAMJ/ MyiHome/ etc. for this player and am actively soliciting features that I could add to this player. Any ideas?Huh

RE: EGreat - R1B
The reasons why you won't find YAMJ etc. is because you have not bought a Networked Media Tank.

You have bought one of Egreat's realtek players. They are Networked Media Players and do not have the Syabas NMT firmware and NMT Apps package.

A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI
CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407

Thanks Chris.
Any ideas on getting applications for the Realtek players? Many other players have implemented shoutcast radio, TV, etc. on their Realtek chipset players (O!Player, Xtreamer, etc.) - any success of porting any of these to Egreat?

No we are a NMT forum so don't have any information on realtek players. The NMT uses Sigma chips.

realtek is more of a turn-key option with a set UI and set features. Low start-up ,as you dont need staff and the chip price is lower, so that's why there are many of these type of players under all sorts of brands.
