What happened to MSP Community?
Hi guys,
Could someone please explain me what has happened to most of the MSP links?
Today I have tried to watch some Game trailers and some Apple trailers from their respective sites and....neither of the above mentioned worked. I have also test some other services and the results were the same.

RE: What happened to MSP Community?
I was starting to notice less and less discussion about MSP and then it really seemed to turn into a ghost town once youtube support got cancelled. Plus not many (any?) new plugins seem to have come out since they cancelled the monthly contest.

Car RE: What happened to MSP Community?
Yeah MSP is a one huge disappointment. Apparently almost nothing works there, things that seem to work, dont work fully or correctly. I think this is not fair from the part of syabas to put in many places nice screens of MSP giving you an illusion of possibilities. When I was planning to buy a NMT and seen that screen I thought WOW! Man! I'll get youtube, last.fm and tons of other supernice stuff right in my TV.

And then? Let's be honest there, MSP is a piece of worthless imitation of what it probably intended to be. And please no lame explanation on how it is dependent od us users to write stuff for that etc. C-200 is pricey enough to get some decent software and services with it and then letting people develop their own plugs. Now when nothing works and community support is almost dead (Look at "What's new" section - 2009? Come on!) Syabas should be fair and or not include screens from it in adverts or give there a huge message. "Warning MSP is not working and never will be, if you plan to buy a PCH-200 because of it - think again"

RE: What happened to MSP Community?
MSP has ZERO to do with the 200 series. If any work then it's a bonus on the 200 series and most are user developed and nothing to do with PCH.

You are new to the NMT so rather than jump in with both feet first why not ask a little nicer and people will be happy to help.

MSP is replaced by PopApps on the 200 series.

Youtube is coming as a Popapp, the deal has been done with youtube and it is already on the Popbox.

So why the heck is is still there? Take the freaking thing off the device completely if your not going to support it, or even make it work at all.

Heaven forbid he be pissed that his box has advertised features that don't work and that *Gasp* he didn't scour a 3rd party affiliate forum for days to dig up info about why it doesn't work.

Hi,
I'm new around here too.
I'd really love to know a little more about
1) MSP having nothing to do with the 200 series and
2) What are PopApps and how do I get them ?

Thanks
Tom

Jump on the bandwagon time is it?

If the MSP section were removed then guess what? All those 100 series users who still use those that work and any future user developed MSP plugins wouldn't happen.

Where is MSP advertised as a 200 series feature?

Think before you pick your battles.

MSP is a 100 series version of the 200 series new Flash based PopApps.

Go to Webservices and press enter and then you'll see the likes of Weatherbug, Shoutcast, Photobucket, etc. Youtube will be added shortly and others as they are developed.
The Popbox should bring quite a lot of new Popapps that can be ported onto the 200 series.

Dear chris57,
my question had nothing to do with C200 but A series.
When I bought my four pieces of A-110 players I had a software with full working apps/plugins. All of the updates that came available through the years had this apps as part of the software. Why do we have to have an options that are no longer supported? Do we need to update the hardware (understand buy C200) in order that we can benefit from this apps again?
If this is the policy of Syabas team what are our guarantees that a future a110 updates will not exclude .mkv file support for an example? Please dont understand the above as an attack, I just want to be informed why this plugins are no longer available and what customizations are needed (if needed) so we can use them again.

RE: What happened to MSP Community?
the MSP Community is nothing we develop, the MSP Community was made for the community to develop plugins, you should be able to read it out from the Name, we don't host that plugins, so we can't do anything to fix them, we can only remove them if needed, the MSP Portal is our Portal where we develop plugins for, the Appcenter is for the 200 series.
So please contact the developer of the not working plugin or simple tell us not working plugins then we will remove them.

Regards,
Werner

RE: What happened to MSP Community?
Thank you for the reply, Werner,
So, please remove MSP Community (as part of the software you develop) as obviously it will never work again.

RE: What happened to MSP Community?
Dave_D will do that also anyway it is good to have two reports about that so we can double check, i will let our team then remove the plugins which won't work.

Werner
