RE: What happened to MSP Community?
Of all of the available content in MSP Community, here's the list of the ones that DON'T work...

//It's Showtime
//Youtube
//ABC TV - Some shows still work most don't and episodes have not been updated since 2009
//trailers
//Mobuzz.tv
//Ask a Ninja - Very old episodes. Not updated
//Classic Cartoons
//Apple Trailers
//Movie Trailers - trailers will not play
//Torrent Plaza
//Gmail
//Danix Pure Session Podcasts
//Project Playlist - redirected to haxyo.com
//last.fm for NMT - web page blank, non-usable.
//grimRadioList - stations are mostly offline
//Shoutcast Directory Browser - Website not maintained, most stations down or offline.
//SHOUTcast
//Audio podcasts from Slovensky Rozhlas
//Wait_wait..Don't Tell Me - website works, podcasts all don't play.
//Reuters.com - content will not play.
//Gametrailers.com - content will not play
//NBA TV Broadband
//Scoble Show
//The Daily Nut
//Atom FilmsToGo - content will not play

I've submitted this to the developers. If you have corrections, please feel free to chime in and I'll forward them.

If the MSP section were removed then guess what? All those 100 series users who still use those that work and any future user developed MSP plugins wouldn't happen.

Where is MSP advertised as a 200 series feature?

Think before you pick your battles.

I'd really love to know a little more about
1) MSP having nothing to do with the 200 series and
2) What are PopApps and how do I get them ?

Thanks
Tom

MSP is a 100 series version of the 200 series new Flash based PopApps.

Go to Webservices and press enter and then you'll see the likes of Weatherbug, Shoutcast, Photobucket, etc. Youtube will be added shortly and others as they are developed.
The Popbox should bring quite a lot of new Popapps that can be ported onto the 200 series.
I'm not sure exactly what its called, but the "portal" with all the web content on it that is located on my C-200 is total crap. I was doing maintenance on my file server one day and decided to see what else the PCH had to offer.....most if not all of the services/links that are in that section do not work.....I'm not at home right now to tell you exactly what the portal is called, but I will report back later. My beef is why did this get added to the 200 series if it doesn't even work. I'm not saying remove the back end content I am saying take it out of the firmware for the 200 series.

RE: What happened to MSP Community?
the MSP Portal stuff works on the C200, there i have no issues, from the ones i test from time to time, and what our QA test, the MSP Community is different because it is not developed by us, we don't check that plugins also.

Werner

I'll have to check this when I get home.....I have only tried to use it once and 90% of the stuff I tried didn't work.

RE: What happened to MSP Community?
can verify them also on A110, only two of this are working on A110 only as it seems

//Audio podcasts from Slovensky Rozhlas
Works on A110 so don’t remove
//Wait_wait..Don't Tell Me - website works, podcasts all don't play.
Works on A110 so don’t remove

the rest will get removed

Correct.

I use it via my NAS. Just don't want the thread locking and dropping off. Probably thinking too hard as I thought not only the removal from the MSP server/firmware side but also threads would be locked or moved to archive to stop future queries.

It is unfair to blame the developers as in most cases the likes of Apple and LastFM put blocks on, or constantly change the way their sites are accessed to stop the likes of the MSP apps. They do like their license fees.

I think I got Youtube trailers working recently.Huh

Wonder if there are ones that the stream doesn't work on the 100 series but do on the 200 series?

The decline started with the likes of Apple/Youtube blocks and finished with the withdrawl of the MSP Plugin competition, which kept interest without the quality of content that was there early on.

I do totally agree that a good clean out is in order.

If you have a PC or NAS in your network then you can access youtube, see the thread for details, around post 100 IIRC.

RE: What happened to MSP Community?
Here we are talking only about the links on the MSP Community site which you can access from the NMT's, so we will remove the non working links to that plugins.

Some are definitely not maintained by the developers, and some where killed by companies like youtube, last.fm, apple trailers,....

Youtube doesn't work from the MSP Community site, but works as Chris stated if you install it on a Server, anyway the link on the MSP Community will get removed.

For 200er Series we will bring a Youtube Flash App, maybe with the next public release Wink, Youtube doesn't allow it to bring also a HTML Version for 100er Series so the only way is to use the Youtube Lite Installation.

Regards,
Werner

RE: What happened to MSP Community?
Last.fm is not an issue anymore as there is a free lastfmproxy for linux servers. Though account is needed. The only disadvantage of it is that the stream don`t support pictures from the site, but a clear mp3 stream from the NMT and it is pretty much usable.
