Fast Foward or Next Track does not work
Hi
I am listening to a mp3 audio file on my A-110 NMT and the file plays properly but the problem I have is that the Fast Foward button or the Next Track Button does not work It displays a exclamation mark ( ! ) on the top left corner ... Is this a normal behavior ? How can I fast foward or skip to the next file/track of the album/folder Thanx for your help |

RE: Fast Foward or Next Track does not work
fast forward does not work at all. If you want to skip to the next file you need to open the files with PLAY instead of ENTER.

RE: Fast Foward or Next Track does not work
fastforwarding and rewinding is not supported in audio files, it is in video. The Popcorn Hour was always intended as a video device and while it can play audio files and picture slideshows, it's support in the 100 series for those functions is rudimentary at best. The 200 series is better, but unless you buy one of those deivces that doesn't really help you too much unfortunately.
However, the left and right navigation cursor keys on the remote may let you jump backwards and forwards in the file in 30 second increments. PCH A-200 // Denon AVR-790 // Jamo S413 HSC5 // Samsung PN50B550 |

Can you give me more information about that are you talking about the right and left arrow on the remote (around the enter button) ? Because I try those while listening to a mp3 file and nothing happen beside the exclamation mark on the top left corner. |

I don't use my A200 for music, nor did I use my A100 for it. Remember that the NMT was designed primarily to play video files and that has always been the focus, any abilities it has to play music or picture slideshows should be considered a bonus and nothing more. This is especially true in the A100 and A110. PCH A-200 // Denon AVR-790 // Jamo S413 HSC5 // Samsung PN50B550 |

RE: Fast Foward or Next Track does not work
I understand what you are saying but I just want to ask the community to see is anyone had a home made fix or workaround for that
And since the device is upgradable, there might be a fireware update down the line that could make this basic feature work. If anyone have any other tips be welcome ... |

RE: Fast Foward or Next Track does not work
It's not what you want to hear, but the 100 series is fully mature product that's about as feature rich as it's ever going to be. New feature development is focused entirely on the 200 series now, the 100 series is receiving only bug fixes. The 200 series has a lot more in the way of audio and picture handling capabilities and it cannot do what you're looking for without a 3rd party media jukebox supplanting the stock UI. The new rich UI for the 200 may be able to do it, but the 100 series boxes simply do not have the power to handle all the new features.
The short version is: your A-110 is very limited in it's ability to play mp3 and other forms of audio. It cannot shuffle songs nor can it fast-forward or rewind inside song containers. Regrettable, re-asking the same question over and over again using slightly different phrasings isn't going to get you the answer you want to hear. RE: Fast Foward or Next Track does not work
Thanx for the clear answer
The way I see it is the fact that the fast forward button does not fast forward a song is actually a bug So that's why I was mentioning the firmware update possibility. I am all new to that but from what I have seen there is a lot of homemade apps so I thought one might exist (what neither of us known about) could solve that issue. But from what you are saying it wont happen So I guess I'll have to live with it thanx anyway for helping |

RE: Fast Foward or Next Track does not work
actually, werner said int he 100 series firmware forum they are investigating moving some of the bug fixes and things to the 100 series so there might be another firmware coming in the future.. I think they are concentrating on unable to play bugs but thats just a guess.. Otherwise, I personally would consider the 100 series discontinued because sigma no longer makes the chip that powers it so once supplies are gone, its done..
