PCH C-200 versus Sage TV HD theater
I am considering the C-200 versus the Sage TV HD Theater. Obviously the Sage HDT has no DVD player. However, it seems it can stream TV via HD HomeRun which the C-200 doesn't.

Any other pros/cons comparisons would be welcome.

RE: PCH C-200 versus Sage TV HD theater
the sage hdt is the same device as the 100 series with sage's software on them.. I've never used one so i can't really make more of a comparison than that...

However from a on paper what it can play standpoint, the c200 is a full bluray player with both rips and adding a bluray drive and not just a dvd player. you can put in 2 drives internally on the c200 if you need that type of completely standalone for media storage. IIRC there is a mythtv client which you can use mythtv with tuners to get live and recorded tv. The 200 does have a variety of user made jukebox applications (but again not sure how that compares to what is on the sagetv unit).. There are a variety of new things coming like a new interface, and the retail syabas product (the popbox) has an app section, the apps that are ok to run on both units will be coming to the 200s soon..

There is also the a200 model which is smaller, single drive and bd lite menus (plays blurays but not the full menus in them), its price is closer to the sage hdt..

RE: PCH C-200 versus Sage TV HD theater
Judging by the looks of their homepage the unit cost the same as an A200. When it comes down to it you want support and bug fixes. So you really have to ask yourself where can you get this faster and whats the user base like. Check out some videos on Youtube of it in action, decide if it will work in your setup then decide how you will connect.

Also take note that the wireless option seems to be USB something that most likely not stream HD content even if it claims to be wireless N.

PCH A-200 300GB HDD + gfb107-sd -> Svideo -> 37" SDTV
PCH A-100 8GB CF Solution + gfb107-sd -> Svideo -> 27" SDTV

RE: PCH C-200 versus Sage TV HD theater
How exactly does the SageTV HD Theater stream TV from an HDHomeRun? Does it interact with the HDHR directly, or does it require a PC in-between?

I'm very curious about this because I'm literally just about to start work on cross-compiling an HDHomeRun client for the C-200.

EDIT: Nevermind, I read the SageTV HD Theater website and it's just an extender, so it requires a PC or Mac running their media center software to watch TV. Not the solution I'm looking for.

NMT: C-200 + Lite-On iHOS104.06 + Fujitsu 2.5" 160GB
Audio: Onkyo TX-SR705 + JBL Venue Series (Stadium/Voice/Balcony/Sub 10)
Video: Samsung LN-S4695D 46" LCD
Network: Apple Airport Extreme + D-Link DGS-2205 Gigabit switch

Seek first to understand, then to be understood.
