Your over thinking this, if possible switch to the resolution if not, don't..

You can give them a list of "advanced" features you'd like the unit to pick or even the ability to turn this off if you don't like the quality..

I have a high quality projector setup with a better scaler than then PCH. All my DVDs reside on a NAS and a "video direct" mode would be highly useful. If it is hard to do for all resolutions, at least anamorphic and non anamorphic PAL and NTSC DVD resolutions would be excellent.

Right now, being the uncompromising quality buff that I am, I have to manually switch resolution every time I watch something other than my default 1024p24

This feature would really set the C-200 apart at the serious home theater enthusiasts media streamer of choice.

I only could find in the Dvico TiVX M6500 manual on page 15 that it is switching back to SD resolutions when NTSC or PAL is detected.

Well, I agree when handshaking is considered in the frame rate output... So TV's that don't have 24p capability, won't have a problem.

All my stuff is either 1080p Blu-ray or DVD.

In my personal library, MOST of my content is either 640/720 wide.. 1280 wide, or 1920 wide..

What I would like to see is what directv pvr's do and simple check boxes for the few resolutions the unit does.. 480, 720, 1080i, 1080p.. using the width of the video get me as close as possible without being under..

even better might be offering a zoom mode for some of them.. so maybe 4:3 480 could have a pre-determined zoom mode and 16:9 480 content could have another..
