OK, I think it's fair to say that you have vented your frustrations and made your point. If you don't want to help out with more debugging that's fine, each to their own. Hopefully there are others who will help out and improve. Thank you for reporting so far.

I have all my album art embedded in the tags (MP3 and Flac) so I would be happy to use the new FW if it only worked. What a load of rubbish. What features that were promised at launch of the A100 have not been delivered? The reason why you see only bug fixes is because everything else is there. Ive tried it with no album art in the folder, and embedded art at 300x300 and 150x150 and neither worked. What is the recommended for album art to work?

As I've written earlier in this thread the non-working WiFi makes the FW "rubbish" for me and prevents me from using it and I would be grateful if this bug also was given some attention. /s |

just make sure it's not a case of PEBKAC... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_error PCH-A100/A210/C200/A400 500GB EXT3 HDD<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10 13 NTFS USB drives on 3 hubs attached to the A300, 3 Seagate blackarmour NAS 3TB, 2 Seagate Central 4TB The inability to setup and configure the NMT should not be disguised as a defect of the box |

(08-15-2010 12:29 PM)Willem53 Wrote: Look........ for now how many report non-working WiFi.....Good, finally a constructive suggestion. I would also add the even more interesting question: how many report working WiFi ? A description of how my problem occurs: After downloading and upgrading the firmware over the WiFi and the reboot, which took 4 minutes, everything looked ok except for the WiFi which said "Not available" under Connection where it usually would say "WiFi Connected". Under "wireless config" I can see the SSID for my network and also some of my neighbors so the radio part is working. When leaving the "wireless config" section with pressing "save" the Connection field would say "Connecting" and after almost 3 minutes go over to "Not Available". So then I put the March fw on a USB-stick and downgraded the firmware and after reboot, 1.5 minutes, the wireless worked perfectly again so for me it is clear that the problem is not on my side of the keyboard/remote. ![]() Using TP-Link TL-WN821N stick. The long boot time for me (4 minutes) is of course due to WiFi not working and the box is probably going through the 3 minutes of trying to connect. So not a false alarm but tied to another problem. For me only embedded album-art is working and only tried MP3. Neither folder.jpg or Folder.jpg works and it only displays the default picture which is not distorted (running 1920x1080@50Hz). ![]() (08-15-2010 02:09 PM)geerten Wrote: FWIW, my WiFi works. With the TP-Link device. Ok, that good news. Some questions to see if our environments are different: -What router do you use ? I have a Netgear WNDR3700 Dual band using 2.4GHz fr PCH. -What WiFi standard, A, B, G or N ? I use N. -What security level ? I use WPA2 TKIP + AES -Do you broadcast SSID ? I broadcast SSID. -If you press "save" in the "wireless config" menu, how long time does it take to get connected ? For me it tries for 3 minutes and then fails, March FW gets connected in 18 seconds. Thanks for helping me find the problem. /s |

RE: [A100] Firmware 01-17-100516-15-POP-402-000 (00-17-091216-15-POP-402 Apps)
how long did the update take for most people? I set mine updating, switched away and watched some tv for about 2 hours and then when I came back the popcorn hour was no longer displaying anything. I restarted it and it still won't show anything (and doesn't seem to respond to the remote either). Think I bricked it?

Try - TV Mode + 0 @staffanw I suggest that you delete the old wirless configuration. Let PCH discover your WPA2 network afresh and try make a connection by putting in key again. Tell us what happens. |

i've been mashing the TV Mode + 0 (and TV mode + 1 also) and it still won't come to life. I get no loading screen, I can't connect over ftp anymore, and hitting power + delete no longer shuts it off. lights come on in the front and the HD spins up fine... but thats all I get.

Do you then see the B&W initial splash screen? If not, then I am out of suggestions. Sorry for your loss! |

Sorry for your loss!There is a way to fix even bricked PCH which includes USB-boot and hooking the box up to an composite TV. You will be set back to an 2008 FW, but from there it is easy to get back again to whatever FW you want. If you can't find give me a shout. Edit: Found the article: here /s |

@staffanw
I am no expert but I was thinking more in lines of resetting your unit to Factory Defaults and then re-do the wireless settings. This is how Syabas testers would have tested and validated it anyway. If it worked for them, it should work for you. |

RE: [A100] Firmware 01-17-100516-15-POP-402-000 (00-17-091216-15-POP-402 Apps)
Hi guys,
I can assure you the A-100 firmware goes thru the same rigorous QA test as the C-200, and it normally takes 3 working days for us to complete it. Obviously we can't test all scenario, hence the beta testing program. However, A-100 beta program have more or less fallen dormant, thus the direct release to public. As to the issues reported: 1. PlayOn v3.0.5.1067 freeze when navigate to its pages, our QA confirmed this. We tested our fix versus PlayOn v2.59.3357.28233, and it works well with this version. QA have open a ticket for this issue. 2. WiFi unable to connect issue, will get our engineer to look thru Staffanw setup to see what we missed, as it seems only reported by Staffanw 3. Music album art corrupted. Can someone send a problem clip to me, petertiang@syabas.com The reality is that A-100 does not get as much manpower as the current flagship the C-200/A-200 as we would like, but we still allocate manpower to its bug fixing and feature upgrade nonetheless. Look out for more updates soon. Sales: sales@syabas.com Tech support: support@syabas.com |
