BD Playback without internal HDD

Quote:1.) Format an USB Stick with 2GB or more to ntfs,fat32 or ext3

DVD Region Setting:
1.) Insert an DVD Disc which has the Region you wanna setup, if the Region is not the same as the Disc has, it wont work!
2.) Please go into the Setup Page
3.) press now "Slow, 1, 6, 8, 3" on your remote (SLOW means the |> Button on the Remote)
4.) now an popup shows up, on the remote use the number for the region you wanna set.

Thanks for the update. I looked through the release notes and didn't see anything about SMB improvements. Has there been work done in that area? As for Gigabit, I saw the updates about Auto setting for gigabit networking. Does that mean that improvement of gigabit networking is complete or is there ongoing work to optimize the drivers?

The only work done on networking was to ensure SMB/NFS & FTP streaming and file transfers is no worse than the previous version. This firmware has new kernel so you'll have to find out if your existing switches will work at "auto".

It's on the release notes. When using the subtitle button, you have to remove it from "auto" to get the size and position options. The new subtitle engine reads position and size tags from the files themselves now.

Think not. I think we will never have gigabit with this Sigma 8643-chip .

Please read the release notes in the first post of the thread before asking.

(Try your .ass subs out, I think you will be quite happy.)

The position and size tags are only visible for subtitles that support them, and only when 'Auto' is not selected.

When you play back sub/idx, they are disabled because sub/idx are bitmap images and they can not be increased/decreased dynamically like text-based subtitles.

SimpleBD in MKV is also NEW

There are still some niggles with it so make sure to read the "Known Issues" portion.
