RE: [C-200] Firmware 02-03-100821-21-POP-408 (02-03-100427-21-POP-408 Apps) (26.08.2010)
finally found some time to post my thoughts about this new firmware.
so, downloaded, turned off every nmt apps, put it on an USB stick, and did the upgrade -> no problem at all - every bluray I tried plays fine (even "Avatar" and "Up", which weren't before and were crashing the whole unit). the only thing is I had to put "simple BD navigation" in the settings tab (and no problem decoding DTS MA and the other one with my Yamaha) ![]() - now that I'm able to watch my Blurays, I've also noticed that the navigation is slooooooowwwwwwwww. I explain with one example : when accessing the menu on "2012", there are different tabs (play movie, configuration, bonus, etc...). when selected one of those items, it is supposed to move and open a new tab, and it's incredibily slow. on my other bluray player (PS3 slim for info), it's fast and instant - another problem with the menu (but on both DVD and Bluray) : I'm from belgium, and my language is french, so I configured my C-200 in french. but when the disc starts, it always goes to the english version of the menu, except when I have to choose the language at the very beginning... - ASS subtitles embedded inside the mkv files are working, finally (tried it myself with remuxing everything using mkvtoolnix) - some problems with full DVD ISO files (including menus, made myself, downloaded, etc...). playing fine. switching to another one, and the screen remains black. the unit is not crashed 'cause I just have to push stop on the remote to go back to the GUI. looks like sometimes, the menu is there (I can highlight the different topics), but the screen remains black. and if I choose play movie, nothing happens. strange... never have this before... tried clear cache, everything, but always there... - problem with the volume on the remote. if I try to up and down the sound from the remote, nothing happens. just keeping the same sound volume. this happens with every kind of video files (ISO, Bluray, mkv, avi, wmv, etc...). this essentially happens when playing files thru USB. but this can also happen when playing from the Kingston SSD - some minor changes in the french translation of the menu (I already talked about them before), and it is much appreciated ![]() - and I didn't understand this final one : I installed the MN-200 wifi module, and the MAC address changed after the upgrade ??? had to change my wifi router with the new MAC to get access to the web services again. I'm not in a hurry for the new rich GUI, so for me, you can keep on developping the firmware and fix everything. and no, there's no way I complain about this amazing piece of hardware : I JUST LOVE MY C-200 !!! RE: [C-200] Firmware 02-03-100821-21-POP-408 (02-03-100427-21-POP-408 Apps) (26.08.2010)
I have a C200 and everything was working ok with streaming movies, music and pictures from my computer to my tv via the c200. I have my c200 connected via HDMI to the LCD tv and optical cable to the amplifier/receiver which has always worked perfectly prior to installing this firmware update. Everything still works fine with movie streaming however now when I stream mp3 music through the media player all the sound is crackly. You can still listen to the songs but with a static sounding crackle in the background. I don't get this with the movies - movie audio is still perfect. None of the connections have changed, it's only started happening since the c200 was updated with this firmware. Does anyone else have this problem? I also have an original xbox and tried streaming the same music through the xbox and it worked perfectly. It's just the c200 that has this issue. Can anyone help me with how to fix this and in laymen terms?

RE: [C-200] Firmware 02-03-100821-21-POP-408 (02-03-100427-21-POP-408 Apps) (26.08.2010)
Hi there
I'm having issues with the recent firmware upgrade. First of all, I wanted to upgrade primarily because of the "header compression issue" where newest blurays do not have pictures or sound on PCH even though they do fine on my pc. The update didn't solve the issue! But strangely, even though I put all the affected movies back on the pc and remuxed it with mkvmerge with compression DISABLED, I won't have sound on 3 new blurays, any suggestions? My other problem.... firmware update broke my wireless connection to PCH. I don't know why and how to fix it. Before the upgrade I constantly had good wireless connection through auto ip assignment. Now I can still select my SSID but it's only written "CONNECTING". No IP address is visible and therefore it doesn't work anymore. --> I updated the NMT apps and Samba server (which I only use) is running as before. Could anybody help me to fix the issue? PS: Wireless works on all computers in-house but not on PCH. |
