Database problem, delete a movie and it does not go away completely

Check this. I scanned UMC picked up Shogun. I reog my files, and moved Shogun (CD1... CD4) to a different directory. Deleted Shogun from database (Select under Manage right click to delete, confirm delete).

Scan again. Shogun does not appear in database under Manage...

So UMC still thinks its has Shogun in its database and locked! And it does not add the new entry.

Can you try to first unlock the movie? Go to the "Manage" tab in the UMC main window, then select "Movies" and find Shogun in your library. There, right click the movie and use "Tag -> Selected Unlock" to unlock the movie. This should update the movie upon a rescan.

The reasoning behind the locking is that once a movie has been detected, it should no longer be rescanned the next time the library is searched. This really improves performance a lot (in my case, it cuts down a full scan from 150 mins to just 3 minutes to detect a few new additions!).

The NFO's are only marked as "NFO = true" when it is a "real" UMC complaint NFO file, i.e. with the directory name the same as the NFO file or when using the (moviefilename)[Movie].nfo syntax.

What happens with NFO files really depends on how you have configured UMC:

• When NFO = false, the DefaultNfoParser will not pick up the file (I think - DonGyros?) but use the directory & filename to guess the movie name and then perform an IMDB search to get the details. This mostly works to correctly identify the movie when you use "logical" names for the AVI/directory (you are using "Shogun (1980).avi" which is "logical", a not so logical name would be "scngrp-shgn.avi" or something).
• The above behaviour can be corrected by providing a YAMJ NFO file which is what you are doing; this should inject the IMDB number in the movie identification process but still isn't counted as a "real NFO" file unless the NFO file is properly named.
• An alternative is to use my SceneNfoParser plugin which will pick up the NFO anyway (since for that plugin, the UMC naming conventions for NFO files do not need to be followed). This will still show NFO = false during the adding of movies to the databases, but there is no longer a "guess" on the IMDB involved to determine the exact movie details.

The problem is that Shogun does not show at all under Manage (so I suppose it is not in the DataBase), so I cannot unlock it...

and scan thinks it is (somehow) in the Database: DEBUG - [Locked] true -> rejecting

I will use your recommendation for NFOs.
