I don't believe the actual video mkv file has anything to do with the problem since it should be
filtering from the track description, as seen in the list per file (right column of ReMuxer).

See the other example I talk about in post #14 since it also describes the same problem.
I'm not sure if that sample file includes what you need (post further down in list).

I know that the file per se is not the culprit, but if I create a "sample" myself and it works, how do I know if it is because of the file I created or because the problem has been fixed?

Therefore, I always prefer to have a file that has been verified to give problems by the reporter of the problem so that I have eliminated any other possibilities.

I'll see if I can reproduce the problem using your sample file.

You can ignore the subtitles for testing, but the A_ is a simple test but it won't work for me.

You need to include a final setting,

* Any Language Keep

otherwise all audio tracks that reach the end of the list will be unselected. Any track that doesn't match anything in your script will be unchecked.

Yes, that it... it all works well now.

Going back to subtitles, when an MKV file has a missing subtitle which we have already downloaded,
it would be great to be able to add it to the mkv so it gets included.
Many times a movie has DTS audio, some commentary track and no subtitles, so adding an existing (english) subtitle would be helpful.
I was thinking that in the main screen, the right column with mkv contents, perhaps splitting that window
top and (empty) bottom. Now with a file currently selected, let user drag/drop subtitles to include into the bottom
window. They would need to be able to specify the language. And then ReMuxer takes care of placing it in order.

Better would be simply allowing drag/drop into current right-side window.
Another solution is a button to the left of each file in the left window for adding subtitle, which pops up a browse window
to locate and include a subtitle. Normally subtitles would be in the same folder as the movie, or in a super-folder where
all the subtitles are kept (like my case).

Other than this and audio/subtitle offset in ms, it's the only thing I still need mkvmerge-GUI.

You can now drag'n'drop (or add via the respective '+' button) additional audio and subtitle tracks to be muxed into the file. If you name the files the same as the original .MKV file and append the language code to the file name it will auto-detect the language. Any text after any possible language code will be assigned to the track's name.

Ie. if your .MKV file is called "My Movie.MKV" and you add an audio file called "My Movie fre French Audio.ac3" it will mux in a French-language audio track with the track title "French Audio". If the audio file is called "My Movie French Audio.ac3" there is no language assigned to the track, and the full "additional text" ("French Audio") of the added file name will be assigned to the track name.

You can now also limit the number of audio tracks and/or subtitle tracks when in programming mode. This will mean that you can make a list of languages like this:



and have it include only one audio track, where the priority is Japanese, English and Danish, or the first audio track in the source file if none of these languages exists, and one subtitle track with the priority being Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and if no such subtitle track exists, then no subtitle tracks are included.

You can now also assign a script to be an "Auto-Apply" script, which means that the script is automatically applied to any files that are added to the job list. If you then save the script as name "Default" (like the above one), then the script is auto-loaded, and - if set so - auto-applied to all files you load.

I also found a quick use for dropping a whole season of episodes after DTS --> AC3 conversion,
and then using ReMuxer to scroll down the list looking for any commentary tracks to remove.
This way is much faster then checking each one at a time with MediaInfo or mkvmerge-GUI (mmg).

Did some testing...

1/ Small bug when you delete all files from the list, the subtitles window (TR; top-right) is not cleared...

2/ Problem when I manually added .en. and then .fr. .srt files to an encode with 0 subs, the end result showed
that .fr. was listed first (Default Track: Yes) and followed by english. By user sort order is set to be English first.
This also happened on another which had En/Sp built in, added Fr but they stayed in this order instead of my
user order (and french was set to Default Track: Yes) which should have been En/Fr/Sp.
My programmer script is now called Default and set to Auto-apply script.

In the new window (BR; bottom-right), if possible, could you please put the Trash and +/add buttons to the
left of this window, so that drag/drop works better when ReMuxer is behind Explorer covering up the window area.

In BR, we don't need the full path shown, only the filename.ext and if possible add (DELAY +/- NNN ms) and DESCRIPTION.

When you double-click on new subtitle, description is empty, having the Language description auto-inserted would be good, from the language list.
For unknown language subtitle and picking from the list, it would be helpful to have user's default subtitles at the top of the list,
example... English, French, German, Italian, Spanish.

Delay option is probably easier if it was a user number (ie 500 ms) instead of clicking up-arrow.
Should always be in ms and allow -ve value.

I actually found a need today for Audio delay of +1500 ms in a new encode, so double clicking on the audio and having delay
as an option would be useful. Add (DELAY ...) here as well. Also language is helpful since at times it's set to unknown.

In effect, it might be more practical to have TR/BR as one window with the Trash and +/add buttons available.
That way a user could add subtitle/audio tracks easily. Sometimes a new audio track is needed for replacing the old
one, or adding a commentary track, or other non-default language for that movie.
This way you can set language and delay for anything added. In this case, put buttons at the bottom of right side (like it is on the left-window for files).

Re-read this part.
I did have to rename srt files to match movie name, and noticed that you still have to
name english (default) srt files with .en. even though 99% of the time movie.srt
implies user's primary language.
Once I have movie.en.srt and movie.fr.srt, both languages are picked up properly.

And according to another statement, you already can add a new audio track and set delay,
you simply can't modify delay/language for built in parts of the MKV file.

BTW, I can confirm that (work-around) adding .fr. followed .en. subs, will output .en. first with Default Track: Yes, followed by .fr.

But that is the exact reason why I put it on the right side... You see, it all depends on which side you have the various windows overlapping each other, so it really doesn't matter which way around I switch them...

But I have now included the button bar as part of the drop area so that you can drop files on it.

Ehhh... That's how it already is... Try entering a number as you normally would. Only problem is that you can't start by pressing '-' as this would lead to an invalid number ("-" is not a number), so you'll have to enter the number first, then press HOME and then enter the '-'.

One problem now is that Eng/Fre, etc does not show even if you drag .en. or .fr. files.
Double clicking shows empty value for language. Once I set it the list is ok,
however double clicking again will still show no language selected.

That's because the proper short name for these languages are "eng" and "fre" (I use the same list that MKV Merge uses, and they are 3 letter short names).

I have support for a few 2-letter names (most notably the ones I use myself ) and have included "en" and "fr" to this short list as aliases for "eng" and "fre".

problem only happened because of adding the default user languages to the top of the list.
